Quick PAM question..
I've never owned one, so can someone answer this..
I'm making a strap for a PAM, and the customer wants me to fit lug tubes.
It's a 26mm strap, so I bought some tubes for a 26mm strap, and they are approx 24mm long - is that correct? (I presume so, just double checking!)

Re: Quick PAM question..
When I ordered a strap from dangerous9 he used 24mm lug tubes on my 26mm strap \_(ツ)_/¯
Re: Quick PAM question..
They are usually the entire lug width, but a couple of mm less won't make a difference. They'll function just the same at 24mm.
Re: Quick PAM question..
I would want them to be about 25mm. If they are too wide they can gore the inside of the lugs.

Re: Quick PAM question..
I've never 100% understood why PAM was the only brand that used them. Is it intended to prevent the strap from grabbing and unscrewing the lug bar? Or is it to prevent wear on the strap? Or both?

Re: Quick PAM question..
So they really aren't needed on watches with the new strap change system.Panerai7 wrote:intended to prevent the strap from grabbing and unscrewing the lug barouttatime wrote:I've never 100% understood why PAM was the only brand that used them. Pretty much, but I like how it also holds the shape of the strap at lugs, I used those tubes on Vintage Moray and Gruppo Gamma bronzeCGSshorty wrote:So they really aren't needed on watches with the new strap change system.Panerai7 wrote:intended to prevent the strap from grabbing and unscrewing the lug barouttatime wrote:I've never 100% understood why PAM was the only brand that used them. Re: Quick PAM question..
The only downfall is some guys put them to the end of the strap. Then they put them on a watch I buy from them, with spring bars!!!! Then I have to figure out how to get it off!!! MTF"ER!!

Re: Quick PAM question..
That's what I had to do. But the leather strap was almost on top of the lugs so I messed it up. This is back in the 3testicle days when I bought it on that forum. It happened to me two times there.unixshrk wrote:toxicavenger wrote:The only downfall is some guys put them to the end of the strap.
