Dude looks pretty rough for 70 years old.

I actually like that they don’t care what investors think, but I wish they’d listen to our desire for a modern 2254 variant.

He looks rough because he was raised by a rich father and Jr was coking up in the 80's and 90's.

His father was the genius and that's always a tough act to follow. HIs shares are down yet several years ago he told the industry he was cutting the supply of movements to those outside the Swatch Group. That's his prerogative and decision........but others remember during the quartz crisis Nick Sr convinced others in the industry to consolidate movements to survive and the industry could rely on ETA to pull everyone through.

I'm sure all those that have been scrambling for movements feel terrible for NIck Jr...

Oh no! Won't someone consider the investors (who ruin everything they touch with their greedy hands)?!

I agree with Hop, Swatch ignoring the wants of investors only seems like a good thing to me. And also give us the 2254 reissue already.

I think the analyst quoted in the article hit the nail on the head (or at least I was thinking along her line of thought prior to reading her much more eloquently presented statements).

She said: "the “very high end” is the only part of the watch market in growth, “namely Patek Philippe, Rolex and Audemars Piguet”

Begruet, Omega, and Longines simply do not have the strength to carry the brand, and in fact are in decline. Mid-market / "near-luxury" brands are obviously much more sensitive to economic market conditions.

I hadn’t seen this Mike, so thanks very much for the report !!! :salute:

Honestly, I think if they did what watch people wish to see that would
be the best route. Bring prices down to earth on everything from
plastic watches, to regular watches and more people will be able to buy
your watches. And Swatch might become as popular as ever. :)

with the exception of Speedmasters, if they release a new 2254 (as long as it is faithful to the OG) no one would ever buy another Omega again.

If they do one without the HRV, I'm in!

I rather enjoyed the article and learned a few things from reading it. Speedmasters and a few of the dive watches have propped up Omega for 20 years or more. I’d hate to see Omega fail.

Without an HRV, how would you purge sea flatulence from your watch? Fish fart...a lot! That's how they're able to propel themselves through the water so quickly.

At least that's what an ocean biologist told me.
No, it's not Tourettes.
