It'll be a weight lifted when the ink is dry. Right now, I'm just paranoid about everything.

No UTS either... or kobold, Rolex, etc.... if it sticks, I'll spill.

A trip to the local Ball dealer yesterday yielded a black Mad Cow. The details were unreal... so I bought a NIB white one. Interestingly, the trit tubes I didn't like kind of disappear in person on the Cow.

The GMT I tried was polished and small... when I found a real Cow to try my opinion shifted markedly. Needless to say, I bought it and had it overnighted from LA. Its white, the size is great, the case is Ti, so its not excessive.

We'll see if it lasts, but it'll be fun to wear.

Seth, cool watch. Interested in your impressions over the long haul, as I haven't owned a single Ball offering yet.

Good work-definately not Movado thin but highly wearable at the same time. Has great balance doesn't it and the caseback feels good on the wrist.

The details are definitely exceptional. Hard to believe that other companies can sell watches at the same price point without bracelets this solid, bezels that move so accurately and without slop. I like it a lot today.

Well done, Seth. I'll always have a soft spot for Ball:

My old EHC GMT I was a helluva lot of watch for the money.

I'll be very interested to see if this winds up a keeper.

Adam

Adam,
What is the digital piece up top with the news BC on it? Does it say "attacks across Iraq kill more than 70"?

Frankly, the Kobold comparison is pretty obvious. Hell, look at that pic of Adam's collection... they're side by side. I know a lot of Kobold owners here have had both. They're similar in size, marketing, price and intent.

I still think the SEAL is a great watch. An icon among dive watches. Having owned 2, I am pretty comfortable with saying that they're great tool watches that should be priced at $1500 like the Korsbek or Kremke Subzilla. They're no better or worse.

For basically even money with the SEAL, the Ball offers some details that are pretty bitchin'. Spring ball detents for the clasp keeper instead of relying on interference, screwed on features on the bezel and crown guard, double drilled lugs, guilloche dial and a machined clasp and flip instead of pressed sheet metal. The bracelet on this watch is really good... definitely on par with the nicest bracelets I've tried.

Will I keep it? Who knows... for me, I often flip em just to get something new. But I like to LOOK at this.

That's a Tissot High-T. It was one of the illl-fated Microsoft SPOT watches that received IMs, news snippets and weather reports. You could also download different watch faces. It was pretty cool, but after Microsoft abandoned the initiative, it became sort of pointless. Still, it was a cool watch.

I still have it, but I haven tried charging it up in a long time.
