My Power Reserve Champ

Post by andy tims » Fri Jun 05, 2015 2:26 am

Sad perhaps, but I always test my incomings check the power reserve in the JLC Deep Sea chrono is supposed to have 65 hours

Well on test it achieved 69.5 - very impressive.

I then checked my records though & the Seiko Spring Drive Diver

achieved 75 hours. This was so good, I checked it twice in case I'd made a mistake.

I know there are a number of 3, 5 and 8 day movements out there, but I'm still pretty impressed.

How do you ensure they are fully wound before testing?

Wear it for a day or 2, then a small hand wind just before laying it down.

Extended power reserve is one complication I'd pay extra for. I love that I can wear my Planet Ocean on Friday and it is still going Monday morning.

Agree, for me the 3 day power reserve is perfect, I could rotate my collection and they would always be ticking.

Andy, that is extra impressive ! A lot of times you would think maybe
watch companies inflate numbers like this, but it seems like they actually
might have underestimated their own watches here sir ! :salute: :)

So amazing to see, and hear about Andy. Thanks very much !

I'm not sure I qualify to be here, I don't even set the date or correct the time when two watches are a bit different  and have no idea what the power reserve is on mine. Still, beautiful watches, especially the Seiko and 75 hours impressive
Regards

Steve
