Well Nikon US for instance will not service grey market purchased cameras. It's ridiculous.

cameras are different. technically, canon USA is a different company than canon in japan. same for all of them. that's how they're able to work the "gray market" thing like that.

Probably. What I like about this place beyond the cool folks in general is that no one here pretends to know everything. I see pissing matches at TRF all the time between members who are convinced they're right when, in reality, neither one of them has a clue.
