^ sounds like decent specs for the price. I wonder if it’s a “real” 2824? With the difficulty sourcing those movements, I’m a little skeptical about small HK maker can get them.

Coincidentally, “Blue Magnum” was the character Terry dressed up as last Halloween. Sort of a combination of a Blue Man and Magnum PI.

Yeah, you really won’t know unless you decide to crack open the case and find out, and then you are left to fight it out with a HK manufacturer.

I prefer to treat this as a Schrödinger’s cat situation where currently the movement is concurrently both an authentic ETA 2824-2 and fake 2824-2 at the same time.

New one for me...

I know it is a bit derivative in styling, being a homage to any number of '70's skindivers, but I'm really drawn to the case shape (already owning a Seiko SLA017 and SPB297).

Someone on the Arain Sous Marine thread on WUS suggested looking at a Zeretto Dino and when I saw they were discounted to just a hair over $500, I pulled the trigger.

Can't argue with the spec's : Elabore ETA 2824-2, sapphire with inner AR, sapphire bezel insert, drilled lugs, etc.

It comes with a bracelet, but it feels at home on a blue Magnum. I may try it on a BC 295 to really drive up the vintage feel.
Reminds me of these Wolbrook recreations:

Except these are $440 and Miyota 8315 powered (no date), unless you want one on bracelet, then they run $495.

I’ve had my eye on one of their special editions (Miyota 9039 in this one for $629):

But I just can’t bring myself to buy a dive watch with a countdown bezel. Too much a purist, I guess.

Those Wolbrook’s look nice too. I’m not a fan of the Miyota movements due to the single direction winding rotor causing the watch to wobble.

This style watch was seemingly very popular back in the height of the skindiver era in the ‘70’s.

I actually like that Wolbrook bracelet over the one that came with the Zoretto Dino (just a style preference, the Dino bracelet is well made).

If I could find a Wolbrook bracelet end link to confirm it fits, I’d buy the bracelet for my Dino.
