It is different.

It is also polite to post an intro thread in the main forum. A random post from some stranger in a topic thread is going to be largely ignored as no one here knows anything about you.

Congrats!!

Both dials came out very nice, I wanted the grey dial from the get-go but both final renderings came out, I admit the choice was not as easy as I had anticipated :)
But I stuck to grey in the end!

Still, I think a little tact would be nice.
I know the DWC discount brought up some new registrations but can't assume all new joiners have bad intentions and can't contribute.

Intros are nice though :)

I think the discount is a great idea to create awareness of this forum existence. I had likewise share this great deal with my local seiko club forum.

Not sure if it helps but I like to think that very exposure helps. Sharing is caring;)

No the discount was for long standing members that had creative contributions to the final product. But hey thanks for showing up on time and participating.

Brice, I'll use whatever tact I find necessary. And Chris's response was appropriate. Thanks.

I think it may be MY tact that is in question Brad...

Who are you? It's like spouting off about a hamburger that you ate, while standing at a bus stop, to people that don't know you...no one is going to listen!

Intro thread in the Main Forum...

Exactly. This was indeed my intention. The support and input I received here was huge in shaping the final specs and design.

I agree about the discount, it makes sense.
And I'll let Todd decide how to handle that.

Sure, you're the boss :salute:
Just stated my opinion like everyone else. I don't obviously know every new joiner's intention, etc...
Btw my comment was not addressed to you and was more general comment. But carry on. :) I have nothing further to add anyway

Update as of Thursday May 21st...

Production has begun on the case mold. This process usually takes 2-3 weeks from mold start to prototype case being completed and surface finished. My design required a custom mold. This is not an "off-the-shelf/catalog case". I know this topic has been bantered around on a couple other forums and I wanted to confirm on the record, my case requires a custom mold due to it's specifications.

Pre-Order numbers to-date

Black dial - 40
Gray dial - 68 (only 7 remaining before sold out)

At this rate, I expect both to be sold out well before the June 15th Pre-order end.

Thank you all... AGAIN, for your unbelievable support and enthusiasm for this project. This forum truly rocks and everyone has been great throughout this project process.

Best,
Todd @ KWC

No I got that. My comment was more of a preemptive attack, and not necessarily to just you but to anyone that wanted to recommend the use of tact when dealing with folks that show up just for the gd discount. No worries.

Awesome news Todd. So glad I jumped on the grey dial.
I'll post the news to the affordable thread on WUS. Another reason to bump it

Would it make sense to create another sub-forum that only members with a certain post count could access in which manufacturers could post special DWC offers? Upon approval by the moderator team, manufacturers would be given access to post in that forum.

Just a thought...

I don't care if the discount is given to me being new or not. I am all in for the watch and always applaud people for going out and making something great using their own time and ideas. What I never understood about the watch hobby is why say anything at all if you have no intentions of buying the product or just saying something positive. Why say something negative just to boost your post count
