New Fifty Fathoms Derivative
Saw this on the Blancpain facebook page, can't find any info about it except it's reference. Ref. 5015C-1130-52B
Case size looks the same. They modified the hands and dial printing as well as the strap. The dial markers are no longer the silver raised index style.
Less blingy but I prefer the old style with the chrome markers and hands.

Re: New Fifty Fathoms Derivative
First I thought this might be a smaller version but the position of the date window is the same so the case must be the same.

I actually like that version a lot.

That looks pretty good and nice retro alternative. Luckily BP did mess too much with a good thing.
I am not sure if a rally strap works on it, but a nice alternative for some.
I like polished outlined indices so I would probably prefer the regular model. I assume the movement is the same. Is this an LE?

I like it. On another note, I also saw someone selling the 40mm anniversary version on TZ for almost 13K. Beautiful, but 13K?!

Re: New Fifty Fathoms Derivative
Yeah seriously. $7k is reasonable but 13k is ludicrous for that.RALAustin wrote:I like it. On another note, I also saw someone selling the 40mm anniversary version on TZ for almost 13K. Beautiful, but 13K?!

Yup. I have tried on the FF a few times and no matter what it is just too big for me and no amount of squinting or deluding myself will make it look like anything other than a hockey puck on my wrist. Damn.
cheers,

Re: New Fifty Fathoms Derivative
If it comes with the full kit, that's a steal (runs over to TZ to check for the listing...)RALAustin wrote:I like it. On another note, I also saw someone selling the 40mm anniversary version on TZ for almost 13K. Beautiful, but 13K?!
Crap, it includes everything; the bracelet, the strap, the special strap changing mechanism, B&P... (hops online to check the number of zeros in my savings account...).
Damn, no zeros.

Wow that is really nice. Too rich for my blood but certainly one to put on the "some day" list.

Brushed case finish
Not sure about the "Aqua Lung" on the dial, though. Less is more...

I don't know, I like most of the FF variants.
I'm with Barry, a rally strap on a diver?

Had to look at that one. Not sure about the "50th Anniversary Series II" text on the dial but, other than that, love it.RALAustin wrote:I like it. On another note, I also saw someone selling the 40mm anniversary version on TZ for almost 13K. Beautiful, but 13K?!
Re: New Fifty Fathoms Derivative
I love it. It has almost every design element I want in a dive watch
Re: New Fifty Fathoms Derivative
I like it a lot. I think the strap, hands and dial changes are to mimic the old FF from the fifties. Still slightly big for me.
Re: New Fifty Fathoms Derivative
I like it. The Aqua Lung is a modern vintage piece style.
Another one to lust after.
