Something new and big and orange! Orient 300M

Post by DaveT » Wed May 16, 2012 11:21 am

This is one of those watches that always interested me but I never pulled the trigger on until last week. It just arrived this morning and I have to say that it exceeded my expectations!

Image

It’s a very substantial watch and I was worried it might be too big but it wears pretty well, the short lugs help as it doesn’t hang over my wrist and at 16.5mm it’s about as tall as I can go.

Image

Very impressed with the overall finish of the watch, I thought it might be a little rough but it’s as nice as others I have had that cost considerably more.

Image

This is one of the newer versions with the upgraded hacking and winding movement, I think the bezel is an upgrade also and now comes with 120 clicker, its really nice and smooth!

Image

Love the ratcheting clasp, I don’t dive but I do swell up from too much beer at times so nice to have it!

Image

All in all really pleased with this, for the time being I am going to keep it on the bracelet but will probably move it over to the Iso at some point, may try it on a nato/zulu or even a mesh (I know some of you guys hate mesh bracelets but I love em) I don't have a lume shot yet but from what I can tell this is as good as any I have had.

Thanks for looking

Dave

Thanks and I think its around 230g with bracelet/170g on rubber strap, heavy but balanced. I wore a Doxa T-Graph for awhile and this kind of feels about the same.

Dave, damn cool watch. I've heard nothing but good things about that model and it's nice to hear they have added hacking/hand winding capabilities.

Great photos! :salute: :salute: :salute:

Congrats, and enjoy.

I have always been interested in those. Do you know what to lug to lug length is?

Sweeeet!

Got the exact one (old movement) and its literally my favorite!

Isnt the tool it comes with great also? Love how it has a flat spot so it wont roll away.

The older ones like mine also have the 120 click bezel, that upgraded movement is sweet though, kinda jealous......
