Happy International James Bond Day

Post by Jsa9791 » Fri Oct 05, 2012 4:14 pm

50 years ago today, the greatest movie franchise of all time launched ( and he was wearing a Rolex as Ian Fleming originally intended.)

Got a couple on the DVR. Epix is running them 24 hours today.

I've seen them all multiple times, but the brats have only seen almost all of them twice! :excited:

Ignore the loud groan you may hear coming from Florida when I reveal out TV watching plans tonight.

I don't get Epix, so I'm trying to decide which one to watch on DVD tonight. Have fun.

OMG, the freaking Bond watch nerds on WUS will be out in full force. I'm sure there will be a blitzkrieg of "real" Bond NATO threads, Rolex Bond vs Omega Bond, etc, etc.

OP: "Does this genuine Bond NATO (on my micro brand mil-sub homage) make me look like James Bond?"
Me: "Sure, if Bond was a fat, bald, pasty white, middle manager wearing ill fitting Dockers, living in the burbs and driving a Prius".

Hilarious. Although I am a huge Bond nerd, I can't bring myself to put my sub on a NATO.

It is definitely worth it! The sound is crisp and perfect too!

Good to know. I've got the DVD box set, but I've been wanting to upgrade the collection to blu ray.

Fleming and Bond (in the books) originally wore a Rolex Explorer. The Brits originally issued Rolex and Tudor watches to Special Operations guys back in the 60's/70's and into the 80's. "Bond"........ and Fleming would be rocking a G-shock or a CWC these days.

Bond Girls........Sophie Marceau :excited:

Don't forget Breitling. He wore one briefly in Thunderball, I believe. It was a faux chrono that was made as a prop for the movie.
No thanks, I'm trying to cut down

Yes they have no style...it was a joke because fleming based the Rolex on actual issue. He would be wearing
an AP or JLC if Fleming was still writing.
