He strikes again

Post by streetracer101 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 9:30 pm

I remember reading a thread about someone here selling a new Invicta and getting asked a million questions. Well, I think it just happened to me. I listed my BNIB Kemmner Seahorse (hit me up if interested) on WUS yesterday. This a message I got:

Hello,
I am interested in the Kemmner Seahorse. I was wondering if you still have it available for sale? If you don't mind answering some questions to give me peace of mind, I am interested in the watch:
Are you the original owner?
How old is the watch?
Does the watch come with an active warranty and all warranty paper work/documents?
How would you rate the watch (mint, near mint, and what percent 98%-99%)?
Does the watch come with box and papers?
How's the timekeeping, can you give an estimate of its daily rate?
When was the watch last serviced?
Are all functions working correctly and properly (please answer each):
crown can screw-down correctly at first attempt (catching the thread correctly),
crown can un-screw correctly [crown not stripped or cross threaded, crown does not pop/jump violently when un-screwed],
seconds hack properly,
minute and hour hand set correctly,
quick-set date functions/sets properly,
does the crown manually wind the watch properly and keep solid power reserve,
does the automatic rotor keep the watch wound with a solid power reserve

What is the estimated power reserve?
Are there any deep dents, scratches, dings, gouges of any kind?
Has there ever been any or is there any moisture damage or moisture issues underneath the crystal or dial, any fogging underneath the crystal or dial?
Is the watch still water resistant?
Any scratches or cracks to crystal?

Would you be willing to hold the watch pending funds, if I send a deposit via paypal. I'm currently in the middle of a transaction, selling a watch, that will provide me the funds I would need for this watch. Would you be willing to take a deposit on this watch through paypal, and when the funds arrive, (the buyer is buying with a Money order so he is mailing the funds tomorrow), and as long as the buyer does not back out, I would send the remaining balance through paypal to you once the funds are deposited. If the buyer does however back out, or the funds do not come through, I would need you to refund me the money. If you would be willing to do that I would especially be interested.

Let me know ASAP, please, as well send me your paypal/address, in case, if I end up deciding to get the watch. I am extremely interested. I appreciate your time and consideration.

Thanks,
izrel

And here was my response:
Izrel,
Please read my description. The watch is new. It has a base eta movement. You should be able to figure out 99% of your questions from that. I have not worn, nor timed it. The watch is first come first serve.
Thanks for the interest.
Best,
Rob

I am pretty sure the dumbasses on WUS have compiled a list of questions and now the newbs are just cut and pasting it for everything they are interested in. I have sold watches worth $4000+ and had only 2-3 questions asked...esp if doing business with a trusted seller/buyer. This crap makes me laugh.

I see. But according to WUS specs, you need to use male skin care products and be in touch with your feminine side. Screw that noise ;)

I hate when the buyer doesn't read the description....But the worst part is this:

"Would you be willing to hold the watch pending funds, if I send a deposit via paypal. If you would be willing to do that I would especially be interested."

Hell no... :smack: :smack: .....Let me clarify....I don't take deposits and I am not going to give back money or refunds based on other transactions that I really don't care about...

Oh also would you take $50 for it? I recently had some heavy medical bills, my sister in law's Gd ma's cousin is in the hospital and so that's all I have in my Paypal. Unless you'll take a $1500 Invicta for it, Swiss made with diamonds And all? Great deal! Please let me know.

He'd have the funds...unless he sold it to some asshat like himself who would nit-pick the f%*k out it and then ask for a refund!!!!

Yeah the joys of sellin watches.

Ive had that many questions on a friggin $380 tag in trying to sell on WUS for a friend of mine. I gave up.

$380 for a nice tag auto diver, people were asking how many owners, if i had all the service papers, how often was it worn?

This hobby is filled with anal retentive collectors.

I would have patiently answered all of his questions, taken high resolution pics, offered to hold the watch for him indefinitely -without a deposit - and thrown in a couple of extra straps.

Once I got his address, though, I would deliver the watch. In person :fro:

Wow.
He should pray he never sends me a pm.
I am neither cordial or professional when it comes to that shit, especially the last request of holding.
Unreal.

I just realized I didn't ask Ben nearly enough questions about the Drew canvas I bought.

I'm not willing to come up with my own template for useless questions of course, so I'll have to wait to find a template for buying a used strap on WUS. I'm sure one exists.
