Show Paul your Tacticals
I hardly buy any watches or knives new. This was $250 used. You can grab a Fenix 6 sapphire used for around $300.

Got my Fenix 5 for $100 a couple of years ago. Lot of value and features for such a reasonable price point.BBK357 wrote:I hardly buy any watches or knives new. This was $250 used. You can grab a Fenix 6 sapphire used for around $300.

Re: Show Paul your Tacticals
I f’n love garmins - specifically fenix Bravo, Delta
I agree that the Iwatch (I have one) offers more features but I just can’t get away from the feeling that I’m wearing a miniature phone? The Garmins just feel like tough watches with added GPS, bunch of stuff for athletes, insane maps, text notifications, weather, etc. Yes, less than the IPhone watch, but not honestly comparable. When I wear the Apple, I feel like I’m much more in touch with my feminine side.. which is ok I guess?
I also feel like if I slam it into the side of a truck, scrape it against a building or go shooting with it, it may not hold up. I’m probably mistaken tho..
Just my 2 cents

Re: Show Paul your Tacticals
Owned several Fenix’s, and the Delta was my favorite. Couldn’t justify keeping it now that I’m not deploying, so I downgraded to the 5 and saved myself $700 with most of the same core features.
As Paul and others mentioned, the Garmins are all tanks, and can take anything you dish out. The Apple Watch, not so much.
Therein lies the difference- application. If you’re using it in a rough way, the Garmin can definitely take it, while the Apple probably can’t. The new Ultra is a question mark, and time will tell if the durability is there, as the function certainly (well, likely) is.
Just my $0.02…

That is why I’m excited about Ultra. It’s supposed to be a tough version of Apple Watch.deepcdvr wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 3:57 pm
