Thanks Fred-- For the GSD, Greg said he could make the part of the strap closest to the case thinner so it wouldn't rub (against the case)..I'm still not sure...

Mike, it's going to need to be quite thin at the lug ends, given the tight clearance between the spring bars and the case (I'm sure you already know this). I think if you can make it work it's going to look great. Yours will look great on a variety of different straps.
