Love these stories! Of course, you getting your watch back and scamming a scammer.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

Matt, that is insane ! ..Unbelievable how much of this is going on, but so cool to hear
how you guys ingeniously got that beauty back. :headbang: You two should team up, and
become private investigators or something. :salute:

Sounds like it was a real horror story for a while there, but I'm so happy for you, and
also impressed by everything you guys did. Well done, and congratulations on getting
that one back ! Thanks very much for the story, along with heads up.

Do you mind that I copy your orig post on the Canadian Watch Collector Forum? This scumbag needs to be exposed here as well.

I use CBI a lot for most of my large US purchases and from buyers who only ship to CONUS, so I don't want this to mar it for the honest folks like me!

I'm in Toronto as well and if you need me to do anything for you (non violent of course cause I don't wanna go to jail...lol) let me know. BTW that phone number is not a local Toronto area code (we are 416, 647 and 905)

That's a happy ending for sure!!
Please do pass word along.

Yeah - about CBI, I do hope this doesn't warn people away from shipping there completely, but rather reminds folks to do due diligence in vetting a buyer or trader.

Done. I'll spread the word elsewhere also. This bastage must be exposed !! :smack:

I highly doubt these A-holes learn lessons. The lesson they probably learned is to try to do the same to twice as many people.

As for law enforcement, I also highly doubt anything will be accomplished. There are some many real world problems that someone getting scammed out of a watch is not a high priority problem. The only people that will look after our "problems" is ourselves.

This has thus far been my experience, which is why I was elated that we had an opportunity to "scam him back". I only share this story with everyone to try to remind folks to stay vigilant.

Matt, I applaud your discretion. I don't think I could've stayed quiet that long. It looks like it was for the right reason, but down you're a smooth operator.

Good for you, Matt. Hate that you went through all that, but I'm glad you lucked out in the end. What a dick. Seriously, how do these people sleep at night?

All great choices, I'm just glad I'm not in charge of casting for "The Yacht Master"
