Bremont, Breitling, Tudor, Sinn.

The last two being much further than the first two choices. That Bremont to me is the best looking and looks most solid. On my short list

Bremont or Tudor.

I had that seebataillon and it's a tough watch to like.

Looks great in person. Photographs very well.

Titanium blasted case shows every mark.

Weak c1 lume.

Loose bidirectional bezel action.

Really long lug to lug. Tough strap changing system.

I could go on but you get the idea.

i like the Nomos out of all presented so far...but don't know how hard to track one down since it isn't produced any more it seems.

the others don't make the grade for various reasons...wrong shade of blue and missing marker on the pelagos, wrong color datewheels on the sinn, iwc, etc, and the Seebataillon isn't even remotely likable in my book.

The Omega Speedy 9300 57 and Bremont are both hot to me.

the Nomos has longish lugs, and it could have been sized 1-2mm smaller...judging from the pics i see on watchuseek.

at almost 40mm with the long lugs...it's a no go.

The Bremont's too-close date window really kills it for me (along with a bunch of intangibles that don't have much to due with this particular watch). When you add the day aperture, it's about .0001mm from the center of the dial. Too bad it's not fitted with a properly sized movement, because it's otherwise nice looking.

Spending Mike's money for him, I'd go for an Omega; either the Ti PO or the Ti SM300. Spending my own, I'd get the Tudor or a blue Sub (ignoring your budget). I think that Sinn is really really bad compared to the rest.

Mike, for me, a blue dial would only make the cut if it's a watch I would wear year-round. On my wrist, the T2 and the Pelagos would get worn all summer in the water, but I'd probably not wear them much 8-9 months out of the year. Out of your four, I like the S500 best. The Breitling looks good, too, but just isn't a watch for me. Omega makes beautiful blue dials both in the AT and Seamaster lines. If I were buying a blue watch right now, and it wasn't a vintage Snowflake, it would probably be a Black Bay Blue (although I also really like that new Sinn 103 SA LE).

There are a handful of 103 LE left (maybe). Way under budget, too, even with the bracelet added.

Thanks for the suggestions..Each of the watches I posted isn't perfect but pretty good in the price range..The nice thing about the Sinn is the blue color, the grade 5 titanium, the size.....but not sold on handset...

What about this?

Image

I like the Omega's especially the blue PO and those Aqua Terra's but a little more than I want to spend..

I have a Topper LE White Nomos Tangent on order...

Thanks Rahul and Chris-

I owned the Tudor BBB and for the money a very nice watch but way too much like my Sub...
Also like the 103 but if I go Sinn Chrono I might need to go 757 Diapal, not blue but it is a watch I have always loved.

This (and I've voted with my wallet):

Vintage Tudoe Snowflake?

Others I like are the AT chrono GMT that Eric posted, the Nomos (if you want a non-diver) and the SM300 ti (not sure if it fits the budget).

What about a blue PO?

To add to the two Sinn's Chris posted... what about trying to hunt down an Arktis?

I've only seen it on the web site... Wondered if it looks too much like a Navitimer...
What do you think?

It is a Navitimer, so there is no getting around that. The dark blue dial and what Sinn calls Elephant Tusk color for the markers is a stunning combination. I'd prefer it on a strap, but the bracelet is nice.

I have a Sub C and a Speedmaster Pro on strap along with PAM 609 and JLC NSD...and have something dressier/white coming..

UTS might be able to make me a UTS 3000 similar to Craniotes..They are looking into it...

I am really looking for something like a Dive Chrono, Pilot GMT--hardened case or tegimented..something in titanium--something I don't have..

The suggestions have been awesome..
