This time with a limited edition MB&F Legacy Machine with a brown/bronze dial and in Stainless Steel - a first for an MB&F. They are also very proud of the fact it comes with THREE straps!
A bargain at $52k...
https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/MB&F- ... r-HODINKEE
Hmm, let me see... For $52k I'm pretty sure I'm getting a PP 5960P (which stands for PLATINUM by the way

)

A bargain you say? well in that case, I'll take 2

Interesting engineering, but no.

For a $50k+ SS it had better have Patek on the dial. This is even more ambitious than the $3k ticket cost. I wonder if you need to submit an application to be one of the 10 owners.

Max Büsser and Friends? I didn't realize that's what MB&F stood for. Kind of a cheesy name for a watch at this price point.

Silly Ferengis, you all fail to realize that those straps are made of gold pressed latinum.
No, it's not Tourettes.

Probably not my first choice for $52K, either, but it's still a top-grade watch. I seriously don't see what there is to bitch about here.
It's not like Patek's infallible; some of their designs have been pretty weak designs since the CEO's wife was appointed as "Head of Watch Creation".

I do know the Patek fans over on TRF are up in arms about what they perceive to be a lack of QC over the past couple of years. I have no idea if this is actually true, but a lot of them assert that it is.
As for this watch, I'm sure it's extremely well made, but it wouldn't be my first choice, either.

I agree. If I were to buy one 50k watch, it wouldn't be this one. I think they are catering to the guy who has a dozen 50k watches. If I were a guy like that, I might be a player on this one. Kinda cool, plus it has 3 straps

I think I've heard this about every high end manufacturer in one thread or another.

Very pretty, but sooo many watch(es) I'd get before I looked at this one.

Guys, let's not forget this is MSRP. 5960P MSRP is ~$90k. I'm already looking for a way to buy one of these (or a LM1) used...I love the design. And I'm still looking for a HM2 Sapphire. MB&F watches aren't for everyone, but for those who love the design, they're tremendous watches.

I really like the MB&F LM, but I really, really don't care for a Hodinkee co-branded version.

Exactly. I have 3 friends whose Nautilus watches went back to Patek due to water damage in the last 12 months. Countless APs (usually not for water resistance) as well.

Larry Kaplan told me about a guy who dribbled pizza sauce on his new gold PP. The next day he noticed a stain he couldn't clean off. That's when he learned it was rhodium plated.

That thing is kind of fugly with 52K my watch box would be over flowing with better looking vintage watches.

I just like the idea of a $50k watch budget. Not that I'd spent it on this...

Think about what nice vintage Daytona you could buy with that kind of cash...

"Baseball? It's just a game-as simple as a ball and bat. Yet, as complex as the American spirit it symbolizes. It's a sport, business- and sometimes even religion."
