Wow, above MSRP.
I think I'd rather get an actual full Ceramic for that much, IMHO

MSRP was $12,500. I know this, because I paid full MSRP + tax for mine :crybaby:

Full ceramic is a compromise IMO. Blancpain went full ceramic because Ceramised was too hard and costly to work with.

Less than 40 of these in the world, means these will hold value significantly better than the compromise ceramic model or the regular titanium IMO.

Ceramic over metal.

Supposedly gives you the scratch resistance of ceramic, but the durability of a metal case (or at least you won't have the entire case shattering).

Whatever it is, it looks amazing. It's a shame they stopped making it.

Yep. Adam has one of the full ceramic ones. I thought I recalled fewer than 40 made but could be wrong.

Yes he does. A rare and awesome one.
But hard to work on that case if needed. BP had problem with that medium hence the move to fill ceramic.

I'd personally go TI for under 8k after discount.

To hear Adam tell it, a BP rep expressed concern that he was wearing it, simply because they can't fix the case if something bad happens to it.

When SS and Ceramized Ti came out they were 10500 and 11600 respectively.
Perhaps they raised the Ceramized to 12500 briefly. But Ti that replaced Cer/Ti is still $11,600. Full Ceramic and not Cer coating is 12,860 MSRP, I'd get that with discount instead.

Is it worth buying and occasionally wearing/keeping for investment - hell yeah. Would I daily it? No way...

You can get a ceramic chrono like mine, which if you take into consideration the movement and technical aspects of the watch, is heads above the 3 hander. It just doesn't have the rare/exclusive tag on it that the Ceramised Ti watches will forever hold.

Shit - I should probably buy it and just have both then I don't need to worry about

FWIW, the list on the ceramised was $12K when I bought mine (nary a week before the plug was pulled), with a posthumous bump to $12.5K. And yes, as has already been pointed out, the proprietary process used to create the cases (and crowns and strap hardware) proved to be too difficult to manufacture at the desired price point. Rather than keep at it, the decision was made to revert to "plain" titanium while waiting for the full ceramic versions.

Oh, and the brand rep who expressed surprise that I was actually wearing the watch was none other than their former president, Adam Bossi. Their current one, David Gely, was similarly surprised when we first met. Even within Blancpain, it remains a somewhat mysterious piece. ;)

Adam

Use it or lose it, I say. To this end, there isn't a single watch I own that isn't in regular rotation.

Hell, if I could afford the real baller pieces -- I'm talking ALS Double-Split/Gruebel-Forsey/Philippe Dufour territory -- I'd still daily drive the suckers.
