Favorite discontinued watches?
I think my years of hanging around here have been amazing for bringing me mostly up to speed on the current state of the industry, so thanks all for that.
I'm curious as to some of y'all's personal favorites from years (or decades) past though. Educate me on amazing horological treats from days of yore, if you would. Thanks in advance. Pics are a plus. Best (pleasing, watch-themed) pic gets a small treat.

Any Rolex sport model before ceramic. The late great IWCs of yore: 3536, 3713, and 3227 in particular. The Omega 2254 - a watch so obviously in need of a remake that only Omega could screw that up.

Re: Favorite discontinued watches?
Over the years I've always wanted to try the 1997 39mm Zenith Rainbow El Primero.

Agree on the 3536 and the Omega. Nice Zenith, too.

I've got a thing for the bullova accutron, especially models like the astronaut GMT, and the Sinn 801a piques my interest. Never seen the Sinn in person.

Total aside, but can you imagine trying to market a reboot with a selita sw 200-1 in it?Panerai7 wrote:Thanks bud, that is the first watch came to my mind that puzzles me why it's no longer made.
Bringing that one back would necessarily be a lot more expensive the second time around.

I would imagine it'd be in a 3K range like the blue and black Bond SM. But it's such a better looking watch. With a ceramic bezel it would be a killerSidheguitarist wrote:Total aside, but can you imagine trying to market a reboot with a selita sw 200-1 in it?Panerai7 wrote:Thanks bud, that is the first watch came to my mind that puzzles me why it's no longer made.

Some of my favorites.
I have a soft spot for no-date divers.
I also like Lemania 5100 based watches.
Can't forget Seiko.
And finally my favorite dress watch ever made, the 5196P.

Re: Favorite discontinued watches?
I think I missed the point of this exercise or some of you did. Discontinued means no longer made not a sub that's been properly upgraded and is 10 x the watch today than it was then (not counting vintage koolaid gaga)
