Never mind - just found it. Very early stages, but looks promising.

I'm still thinking the vaccine might be a year away (at least for lower risk demographics), but if remdesivir works to lessen the symptoms and make the virus less likely to cause significant injury to the lungs or death, then I'm glad to have several options.

My guess is remdesivir will be released more quickly (4 to 6 weeks) as it has been more thoroughly tested.

Europe at first did not take it seriously like us in the USA now look at what they are dealing with. Here a sad story I read about Italy a guys sister got it and was in her 40’s she died they lived in the same house. No body would pick her body up every place he called were afraid due to the virus. It took social media to shame them for his sister to be taken care of kind of a sad story . 2-4 days having your dead sister in your house were no one cared imagine what he went through . I also read that mortuaries are full and news papers just full of obituaries pages of them. It only started with a few case and now look at it. Why will we be any different why won’t it spread like Europe ? This is serious shit. Only time will tell.

I remember 10+ years ago, when we visited Italy with our Italian (then 82 y.o.) Aunt. One of her elderly female family members was at a hospital sharing a room with an older gentleman. They were only separated by a thin, almost see through curtain. The set up at that time was way below US standards. My wife and I were questioning if the sick in these hospitals had a fighting chance.

I went to a South Korean hospital in the early 2000's. It was an eye opener on how bad it was.

You have to keep an open mind that many other parts of the world don’t put as much effort into appearance as the US. It might look like heck (to you), but still have great doctors and acceptable equipment.

No - I meant a UNC degree has little value since they got caught making up bullshit classes with zero work and never got in trouble for it. It was a huge scandal at the time.

Cornel has been closed since Friday and they’re pushing all students out ASAP. They’re starting 100% virtual classes in three weeks. I’m so glad I’m not teaching this semester. I’m site it’s a nightmare.

I just admitted to having multiple degrees in "fake" classes from there, so "business" will carry on as usual I presume

My cousin is at Ontario Veterinary College. They are keeping classes open for the students there who are in their final semester of surgery prior to graduation.

Makes sense to me as it would be very difficult to put a pause on this degree at this time or do anything remotely.

Of course, they are monitoring the situation regarding infections. So far, so good.
