Strap suggestion for this green Seiko williard?

Post by Mr_Pacman » Tue Jun 08, 2021 9:44 pm

Anyone have a strap suggestion for this green Seiko SPB153? I'm thinking a canvas might be nice but have never owned one before.

Would like a strap that is 20mm x 16mm or 18mm at the buckle and not looking for something that is really "rugged" as I'm hoping to wear this with business casual at work.

The factory rubber strap is quite nice, but a bit thick and I find the buckle digs into my wrist.

Thanks
James

Canvas works well but for some reason I don’t have a picture of it. I also liked NATO and (gasp) leather

Try the uncle seiko 20mm GL831 strap. One of my favorites on the willards and turtles (22mm).

Canvas or a MN style strap, although they don't taper.

Everything else is a step down from Art's canvas.

On occasion, I wear it on a green leather strap.

The ones the guys are showing are the way to go I think James.  :salute:

But just for some ideas down the road, had seen these over at
Cheapest Nato Straps, which are nice, and they are just the tip
of the iceberg. :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll do some digging around this weekend to see what I can find. Seems like most of the canvas straps don't taper at the buckle which is my preference. I was thinking green but now thinking more of a khaki color

I really like Red Rock for a thinner canvas strap.

By far my favorite is the OEM rubber strap. The Uncle Seiko waffle looks great too.

I've worn mine on these two natos and on an OD canvas strap (no pictures for that one):

Those natos look sharp, Joe.

Now that you mention it, I don't think I've had it on the rubber strap since it arrived;

will have to give it a go.

Thanks Matt! I think both are chevron natos (single pass really) from Crown and Buckle.

I made the effort a good while ago, but I could not get comfortable with the lead time and the indecision I had on what to order. I need to revisit it. I've seen countless straps of his here and dang they look good.

I wear my blue Willard on the Seiko rubber. It’s comfortable and looks great.

They don't taper, but these canvas strap from BluShark are thin and super comfortable.

Uncle Seiko just released some more bracelet options. I think I’m going for the US1450 eventually.

I also like B&R straps. They have parachute style and hook and loop straps that I like.

I second the Parachute strap options. I am loving them on several of my watches. I also just picked up this green NATO from Crown and Buckle that would look good on the Willard.

Does not taper but I am liking the new Uncle Seiko velcro strap. I now have 4.

They have a green option.

Holbens now has some new, thicker Eulit brand Perlon straps. This new one is called the Atlantic and it, like other genuine Eulit Perlon is infinitely adjustable.

Here is the new dark green on my Bulova.

My favorite strap is still the OEM rubber, but the B&R parachute strap is great:

One of these would work. Maybe the green or gray? I have several. They’re nice enough, with the genuine rubber lining. And they’re very comfortable. Arrive in about a week from Paris.
