Found this at Oceanic Time

Re: Blancpain Bathyscaphe Grade 23 Titanium
Why do they put the date window there?
Re: Blancpain Bathyscaphe Grade 23 Titanium
I absolutely love it…..except the date window.

Looks bland. BPs always look much nicer in person though.

I think it looks awesome and I’ve gotten used to the date window. Doesn’t bother me at all. This model and the ceramic with blue dial are my favorite variants

It is a bit of an odd design choice since there's plenty of room at '3' for the date. But it doesn't bother me either, these things are much less noticeable on the wrist than in a huge, blown-up image online.

Not for me
Don’t like titanium
Odd date placement
A lot of empty space
Would prefer larger markets on a diver
It’s almost as if it’s a dressy diver... maybe for dinner on a cruise???

Would be a great everyday wearer if 40 or 41mm. Really like the design. I agree that the date window is one of those things that disappears on watches once you get used to it.
Re: Blancpain Bathyscaphe Grade 23 Titanium
I can't speak to this one in particular, but I used to think the markers on the bathyscaphe were too small and that there was too much empty real estate on the dial. Then I saw the OG version IRL - it's a great looking watch.

I love the fact the dial is clean, so many brands do cluttered dial wirh a lot of unnecessary texts and crap. It’s clean and also purposeful.

Re: Blancpain Bathyscaphe Grade 23 Titanium
Generally speaking, I like the built-for-purpose / tool watch aesthetic, so I do like this design.
That said, I guess I must also admit that I am shallow enough to think that if I am spending $15K on a watch, I want at least a little flash. This grey-on-grey design is about as under-the-radar as I can imagine.
For me, the flat bezel insert and small dial indices of the Bathyscaphe collection aren't nearly as visually compelling as the bold bezel and dial of the Fifty Fathoms models. If I am going to buy a Blancpain, its going to be a Fifty Fathoms.

I hate date windows at 4:30. Immediate disqualified for me.

I totally agree. I didn’t like the original version of this watch in pictures and then saw it in person - it was amazing.
Re: Blancpain Bathyscaphe Grade 23 Titanium
Have to say, it looks pretty incredible from here, and that's just from
seeing these pictures Shannon.
Yup, imagine seeing these in person like Jacob said here above.
You would really be able to appreciate the look of the watch that much
more. As well as the way the titanium is, and even date window is.
It's another one that is getting !!
Thanks so so much for the news !!!

I agree. While I love both the FF and the Bathyscaphe, and I hope to own both some day, when it was time to make a choice, very recently, the full fat Ti FF seemed more … “Blancpain” to me.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 8:07 amGenerally speaking, I like the built-for-purpose / tool watch aesthetic, so I do like this design.

The Bathyscaphe is super cool in its own way, though, and the brushed ceramic with Liquidmetal bezel is a pretty cool upgrade. I’m just excited they brought back a Ti Bathy, after not making one for a few years. (Too bad they won’t make more of the incredible Ceramized Bathyscaphes.) The brushed gray dial is nice, but I have a feeling it’s the exact same material and finish as seen on that recent brushed gray dial Omega Railmaster. It looks much nicer here; the detailing on that RM let’s it down, imo. Being Swatch Group cousins, it’s likely they’re made from the same formula...?
(Photo borrowed from WatchTime. Thx.)
Nice, but matte textured black, like on the Hodinkee Mil-Spec, would’ve worked well here?

Over £8K, well that's me out
I do like it a lot, bland yes, I'd rather no date window at all, yes the markers are too small but I still like it's overall look.

Like it, cheaper than a new Rolex Sub (At grey AUS prices, can't buy any at MSRP) & probably easier to get.
