2021 ins & outs
2021 ins & outs
2021 has been quite a busy year on the watch front, especially as there was no activity until late April.
Out
My stunning collector's set 16800 was getting just to valuable for me to enjoy wearing.
I'd had this one 11 years & was a little sad to see it go.
This went in a trade for a Flat 4 LV
In & Out
Which was itself traded for a slightly newer LV
This was a mistake. I'd long wanted the Nightlum version, but got tempted by this in the Jura sale. Never bonded.
In & still around
Definite long term keeper
Missed the boat on these originally, but got offered one by a mate who needed some cash quick & knows I like Sinn
The 3 above were bought as a bit of (relatively) cheap fun. The Nordgreen watches are for sale, but the Omologato is likely to stay a while
Pic stolen from the internet. Like many, I foolishly sold my original 2 liner years ago. This is a great replacement, but I only realised I hadn't actually photographed it when putting this post together. It's been a mad few months.
The latest addition.
How did you do?

Re: 2021 ins & outs
I haven’t bought or sold anything this year. Andy, this is one of my favorite yearly posts on here. You’ve had so many prime example of good references.
2021 ins & outs
I didn’t sell any this year but bought two.
The Superocean was one I’d looked at for years and never pulled the trigger on, but when I decided I wanted to add some more color to the collection this year I finally bought one. I wear it a lot.
The Apollo 8 was purchased as a memorial for my dad who passed in Nov 2020. The inscription on the back of “see you on the other side” has a dual meaning for me since I watched that mission with him on TV as a young boy.

Garmin S62 Golf/Fitness Watch also from my son for my BDAY. Really a great tool for golf and working out.

Still have the 16570 and hanging tight on the collection.

Love this yearly tradition.
In
BB58 Blue. Had a black one several years ago and always thought it was the perfect daily.
GS SBGE257. Saw it last year at an AD and couldn’t get it out of my mind.
SPB143. Classic easy wearing black Seiko diver.
Garmin Instinct for running and working out.
Out
16600. Still think it is the perfect dive watch design. Just feel more comfortable wearing less valuable watches and the BB58 is a better every day watch that I don’t have to worry about knocking around or wearing to the wrong. “Places”.
GS SBGN 003. Like it a lot and super easy wearing… but wanted to step up to the Spring Drive GMT and having both felt redundant.

Re: 2021 ins & outs
Zero outs, zero ins in 2021. I've got my eye on something that might happen in 2022, but prices are insane so it might not.
Re: 2021 ins & outs
Always look forward to this thread
Out:
Smiths Caribbean. Very well made piece from Platts. Was able to snag one during the infamous TF Sunday morning buying frenzies. Catch/release and sold to a DeeDub bro; that’s always a plus.
Steinhart Ocean 2 Premium. This one was a catch and release. Owned one years ago and recalled the great price/spec ratio. Tastes change and I remember why I moved it in the first place.
Seiko SPB147 w/ date mod. One of Seiko’s recent best releases. The fit/finish on these is fantastic for the price. These wear similar to a 5 digit Rolex. Black date mod by Duarte for a custom look. Moved it on after a few months to chase something else.
G-Shock “Casioak”. Catch/release. Had been wanting to check one out for a while. Very cool but not for me.
In:
G-Shock GBD-800. Very cool color way. Bought it on a whim, wore it once or twice and now gifting to my brother. So it’s not technically an “out”.
G-Shock GBA-800. Gift from the family for this year’s birthday celebrations. Love the color and have always wanted an analog “G”. Fits great, just like the GBD-800 series. A watch w/ emotional attachment is a rarity for me so this was very cool to me.
Casio Amazon $20 special. Was looking for another beater; my other one died a few months earlier. 10 year battery, large positive display, and a good price made this an obvious choice.
Rolex 124300 aka OP41. Loving this one and was lucky to receive it just in time to close out 2021. The hype is real on these OP’s; they’re really a GADA piece and I’m glad to have one without having to partake in any games w/ an AD.
So that’s it. As evidenced, I go through a G-Shock buying spree here and there - they’re good, cheap fun. I don’t have any plans to buy anything in ‘22 and feel very satisfied w/ what I currently have.

Re: 2021 ins & outs
Not too much activity this year. The big acquisition was the Explorer II Polar to go with my black dial version.
I also received a Timex Q as a Xmas gift (no pic).
Out to fund the polar was this 14270.
In and then gifted to my son for his 18th birthday is this SKX009.
And I recently bought and then sold a Tudor Ranger.
That's it. No specific plans for 2022. Every time I put something else on, I find I'd rather be wearing an Explorer II.

Out - Not watch related, but my son finished school here in Aus, so no more exy school fees = some incomings 2022.
In - Sent my wife's 1625 T-Bird and a PAM 380 in for service. Due to lockdowns took for ever so it felt like a incoming when I got these back.
Some cracking watches here you guys...

Re: 2021 ins & outs
A couple big changes, but mostly I’ve enjoyed rotating back into my watches on bracelet to close out the year.
The Tudor 94210 “Big Block” left to make space for a J series PAM0233 “Dot” dial, with zero regrets.
Tag Professionals have always spoken to me, especially the OG Aquagraph. This one came down from Steve to get sorted, and one thing led to another.
And since you guys know I enjoy getting watches working again, the infamous Ginault came to me from Paul, and got sorted and fully brushed. Now gifted to my oldest son to recognize getting his PADI open water.
Honorable mention goes to the SBDX019. After 4+ years of not much wear, I finally decided to try on its bracelet modded with an adjustable Marinemaster clasp from Ben. It’s excellent, like a 5 digit SD with a Glidelock.
Got this fun Isotope incoming next year.
Have a great ‘22 BoDs!

Re: 2021 ins & outs
Agree, this is one of the threads that I enjoy the most.
Slow year for me as I used most of my "play money" in other hobbies (Tacoma, motorcycle, stand up paddles...)
Sold the SPB143 and Oris 65:
The SPB143 is a great watch, but I prefer the Willard. However I may hunt down the blue variant of the 143 next year.
Those funds were used to put back a Speedy on the box, a newer model than the one I had:
Good move for me because I've been wearing the Speedy a ton to the office.
Seiko MM200 came and went. Lovely watch but can't compete with the PO and BB58:
Finally, I sold an Arnie to get another one:
I love this new color combo. Might have to look at Breitling Night Vision Avengers in the future.
2022 currently include the Hamilton Khaki manual in bronze:
And one of the newest Seamasters, which I've wanted since they came out but I can decide between blue dial or white dial.

No outs...2 in!
First was a Damasko DC66 - absolutely awesome watch. Perfect size, great tech w/ the ice hardening, etc. I absolutely love it. Thinking of picking up the bracelet for it.
The other was an Omega Planet Ocean, in orange 45.5mm spec. I've had a ton of PO's over the years and still have the 2201.50. Wanted to add this one as it has a very different feel w/ the size/color and it's one of my favorite all time designs. They're getting harder to find, so when I saw one that was basically LNIB, I snatched it up.
Will try to post some pics later! Happy new year, all!

True that they are getting harder to find... been toying with the idea of adding another 42mm to have one with the black bezel and another one with orange bezelZidane wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 6:51 amNo outs...2 in!

Re: 2021 ins & outs
This year was a blur for me. Looking back I had some great ins but not so many outs. Need to start culling the ones that aren’t getting the wrist time.
Ins:
Love this BLNR!
When this was announced I knew I had to try one. Perfect white dial watch!
This is stupid big but I enjoy it
Have been going through a tuna kick lately.
Lastly I picked up a Sinn 556i but for some reason haven’t taken a pic of it.
Outs:
Just the blue Seamaster which I’m wanting back. We’ll see what 2022 brings
Hoping to snag another blue Seamaster or Superocean and at some point need another Speedmaster in the box.

MM300 clasp change your life. I can’t take this watch off.
You’ll have to talk to Shortell if he still calls dibs on the Aquagraph.
