TAG Heuer's Autavia 60th Anniversary Collection
TAG Heuer's Autavia 60th Anniversary Collection
Not sure if all of you guys had time to see TAG Heuer's Autavia 60th
Anniversary Collection.
It's made up of two Flyback Chronographs, and one GMT.
The Autavia Flyback Chronographs have either a stainless steel finish,
or DLC coated stainless steel finish. Along with 100m WR, sapphire
crystals, bidirectional bezels with ceramic inserts, sunray silver, or
black dials, the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback automatic,
and alligator strap.
Then the GMT has a 42mm stainless steel case, and sapphire crystal,
a bidirectional rotating bezel with two-tone ceramic insert, sunray blue
dial, stainless steel bracelet, and Calibre 7 COSC GMT automatic too.

I really like the Flyback. Looks like Tag has developed some interesting bracelet/strap attachment systems.

Re: TAG Heuer's Autavia 60th Anniversary Collection
That's a nice looking watch. The best part about it is that they crammed so much text into the top section of the dial that they barely had room for the TAG logo, so it's pretty small
I guess I'm old fashioned, but I still wish TAG Heuer would reserve lines like the Autavia for their Heuer-branded vintage reissues, but I think they did a pretty nice job on this one.

I love what Tag has been doing with their vintage inspired watches. I did a recon search over Christmas and there were quite a few that I really liked. So much better with design than a few years ago.

Just looked up the prices: ~$7K for the steel 'silver' edition, ~$8K for the DLC-coated edition. I get that it's an in-house chronograph, but...

Re: TAG Heuer's Autavia 60th Anniversary Collection
I was looking at these yesterday and I’m a huge fan of the Steel silver dial Chrono. It definitely made my list. Priced at 6300$ with that flyback mvt isn’t cheap by any means but i don’t think it’s bad at all with a good discount at the AD.
I’ll own one and glad they made it in a man size and not some tiny 36-37mm case

I guess I’m used to new watches (and vintage) being priced into the atmosphere. I’m more of a window shopperlogan2z wrote:Just looked up the prices: ~$7K for the steel 'silver' edition, ~$8K for the DLC-coated edition. I get that it's an in-house chronograph, but...

TAG continues to try hard, but they never seem to get it just right... and the prices

Needs the Heuer only logo for me to be a potential buyer.

I was ready to like these, because TAG has had some good LE models recently. I hate all of them for one reason or another. The GMT looks like a really nice micro brand and the TAG branding was a shitter.

Kind of digging these. I have started to lose my anti-TAG bias as they keep making some very interesting looking watches. Watches you can actually buy! What a novel concept.
But yeah, like just Heuer branding better.

Don’t want to like it but…do like the DLC model.

Like the Flyback but the blue dial meh…a bit pricey for me..
Re: TAG Heuer's Autavia 60th Anniversary Collection
TAG Heuer is starting off the year in a really impressive way right everyone?!
Now if they could just lower the prices. Or change the name back to Heuer,
and fix the prices, that would be great. And really it doesn't sound
like that big of an ask. Because the pricing could come down more than a few
notches. And most everyone seems to want them to get rid of 'TAG'. So it
makes sense, plus would just make fans even happier. Or make them that
much more excited about watches that were originally Heuer models to
begin with right?!
Guys, since we are talking about it, do you think TAG Heuer will eventually
just be called Heuer again?
In any case, one thing is for sure, it's unbelievably fun discussing things
like this with everyone. Thanks so so much for sharing your thoughts as
always guys !!!
