New Bulova Avigation Hack A-11

Post by AtomicTom » Mon May 09, 2022 11:01 am

Hey everyone, have you by chance seen Bulova's new Avigation Hack A-11?

The watch is a modern re-sissue of the original WWII watch. Increasing the
case size from 34mm to 37mm this time around. And having further details
like coin edge bezels, blue dials, nice nylon straps, as well as Miyota 82S0
automatic movement, and more.

A few pictures for you...

Nice enough looking, but like the Aquastar 3-handler too small for me @ 37mm

Agreed, great looking watch. 40mm would have been perfect

Bad job here is a real one and you guys who like alarm clock size watches be glad they did not make it the original size it would have been a hell of a lot smaller. First military watch I ever bought that took me down the rabbit hole of military watch collecting a Bulova US air corps issued A-11. Even had the original strap all the nicks and the crown was well turned with wear you can see the US history of WW2 in this watch.

A few of my WW2 US watches and one from the Korean War. Funny how watch size has changed through the years from BIG pocket watches to small wristwatches during WW1 and to now larger wristwatches of various sizes.

Wow, this new Bulova doesn’t really seem to compare to those
beauties you guys are showing honestly. 8-)

There’s just something about the look, or quality of older watches
that doesn’t seem like it can be duplicated. ..And you know, the
sizes really are fascinating because they genuinely don’t look small
at all. Plus they all seem to have large crowns which adds not only
size, but a whole new layer to the watches. Even the straps add a
terrific touch. :salute:

I’m not sure that Bulova nailed the look perfectly with these new
watches. But it’s fun just to see. Especially your marvel’s here
above guys.

Can’t thank all of you enough for sharing your thoughts, along
with watches !!!
