Questions re Seamaster adjustable clasp

Post by rain_maker » Wed Jun 01, 2022 6:43 am

Had picked up a Seamaster a little while back ... third times a charm!

As the weather is heating up, I'm thinking about adding the Omega adjustable clasp (+ endlinks, pins, screws) to the 1610 Speedy bracelet.

Anyone here added one to their Omega? Looks straightforward ie a DIY upgrade but LMK if I'm wrong.

I see that there are 3 different size clasps ... any experience with the different sizes?

If you can add/remove links you can install the clasp, but if you’re near an AD like Topper they’ll do it for you.

You swap out the end links on the clasp side with ones compatible with your bracelet, the attach the clasp to the new clasp end links with screws. You’ll need those links, pin/screw set for each side, and the clasp itself.

As I recall, the three clasps are:

-Small adjustment track, maybe 3 positions
-Normal adjustment track, about 6-7 positions
-Normal adjustment track with dive extension

There is a detailed thread in the Omega forum on WUS, where you should find lots of info.

Thanks Ben. Which clasp is that? The small, medium, or large one?

Sorry but I have no idea. This was a pic that someone posted here on another thread about this and I saved it.
I don’t even know what I had on mine. But I thought it was this combo. Wario406 has it now. It was def bigger than the original clasp but not too big that it was uncomfortable.

Awesome ... thanks guys.

From all accounts it sounds like this is a "gotta have it" upgrade

It’s definitely bigger than the latch on my SMPChrono. Very comfortable. Image

I’ve owned a bunch of omegas over the years and have used the short and long adjustable clasps. They are really easy to install, very inexpensive and are fantastic in day to day usage.

(Are you listening Sinn?)

I won’t go without one again, should I ‘rent’ another omega.
