Citizen titanium Promaster
Atomic Tom posted some new Promasters the other day, but I haven't seen this upcoming ti version posted (apologies if it has been and I just missed it) and this is the one that most interests me. I love the classic look. I could do without the Mercedes hands I guess, but it's true to the original, and the 41mm case seems perfect. Due this summer and retailing for $795 for the black on rubber or $995 for blue on bracelet, it has better movement specs than similarly priced Seikos. Definitely on my list.

Re: Citizen titanium Promaster
I like those a lot.
My understanding is the nickname for these is the “Barnacle” due to one of the original models of these being found on some beach all covered in barnacles yet still working.
My only negative to these is I’m not a fan of light weight watches with a single direction winding movement. This watch is going to wobble quite a bit with that spinning rotor.

Looks like a perfect beach/summer watch. At first glance I wish the bezel had more “teeth” for ease of use but that could just be the pics. I’d own one.

I also noticed this one and checked availability, which looks like late August or later.
It reminds me of my first Citizen diver, back around 81-82.
If only a no-date….

No-date is always my preference, but at least the date is well balanced on this, and I think Citizen has done a better job than Seiko incorporating the 3:00 lume to meet ISO standards.hoppyjr wrote:I also noticed this one and checked availability, which looks like late August or later.

Maybe.
Re: Citizen titanium Promaster
Oh cool Jeff, these really are incredibly nice, Mercedes hands and all.
And actually the hands bring a lot to the design come to think of it.
They help the whole watch flow in this really neat way. And only add
to the personality imho. Plus as you said, they help the watch stay
true to the originals. Which is great !
Honestly looks like a terrific release by Citizen sir. ..Classic, as well
as classy, sporty, and sleek, and a lot like a modern day skin diver.
Can’t thank you enough for the news about them !!!

Re: Citizen titanium Promaster
I like them but too similar to many other Citizen diver models. They all look the same IMHO.

Can't wait to see some live pictures of these as I cant help but compare it to the shogun. One thing that's bothered with my ecodrives are that the date wheels tend to be too small and set too deep. The chronomasters seem to be the exception however and I wonder how the citizen autos are.

Super Titanium, Sapphire, 4Hz movement, anti-magnetic & $800. This is a winner for Citizen. Looking forward to seeing reviews and photos when it’s released. This could very well be my first Citizen.

Re: Citizen titanium Promaster
That blue dial & bracelet looks great. Agree the hands aren't great, but surely theres someone out there who could mod these...

Re: Citizen titanium Promaster
Decent size. Decent looks. Decent price. Seiko could learn a thing or two.
