With the market tanking and recession coming it seemed the right time to get an unreliable vintage watch

Thanks. Hodinkee has a great article on how they stretched a single barrel to 100 hours power reserve for this movement (Cal. 36).

How is the time keeping over the whole power reserve? My understanding isn’t that you need multiple barrels for a long PR, it’s that it’s very hard to have consistent time keeping on a long PR with a single barrel. This was the problem with the early IWC Big Pilots — they simply couldn’t be regulated to keep time in real world use.

Well thank you very much Steve, it actually looks even nicer in person
if you can believe it ! :excited: 8-) I’ve never had a case like this either.

It really is special, as well as a spectacular Spinnaker ! :) ;)

So is your Eagle Star Squale by the way ! :headbang: :o

Honestly am not sure I have seen that beauty anywhere else before sir.
It’s got that fantastic case, angled bezel, and pure vintage awesomeness ! :salute:

Yet another centerpiece watch in your collection Steve !!!
