“We are looking at more than $100 million in documented losses," International Gem and Jewelry Show President Arnold Duke told the Los Angeles Times. "This was an absolutely huge crime. One of the largest jewelry heists ever. We are talking gold, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and loads of luxury watches."

I come from that world and would bet my next months salary there’s an inside connection.

I wouldn’t dispute you, regardless, but yeah.

Who walks away from a truck filled with 100mil of goods that can be fenced like all that stuff for 30 minutes? I mean, besides people being paid 100k a minute to do it. And that’s just the surface-level question.

One truck, 2 guys and a $100mil of loot. Bet you the underwriters will change this scenario...
Strength is = 2 or > than "tipping over a so- called smart car plastered in “Coexist” bumper stickers".

I heard a radio segment on this heist. They said it had to have been a large organized operation to pull this off.

May be some “to good to be true” deals on some watches soon. I’m sure that the insurance company will be looking hard at this.

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Wow, it really does sound like a movie to tell the truth Michael.
In fact they just might make a movie about this particular heist
in the next year, or so possibly. ;) It definitely is a crazy story !

Not to mention one which might be very interesting to keep an
eye on if they end up getting to the bottom of it. ..Thank you
very much for posting this up for us !!!
