It looks like they finally figured out how to straighten the GMT hand.

Monta is killing it. What really pisses me off is that Monta can turn out a sub 12mm thick GMT with a rotating bezel and Grand Seiko can’t get theirs below 14mm.

I thought the old brushed angled one was cool. The dial markers on the previous version had a lot more depth which probably requires that angled gmt hand to keep the depth down. The new dial isn’t as nice.

looks like a different hand stack, and I absolutely agree the angled GMT was/is a nice look plus highlights the (more) 3D dial furniture.

The lack of a rehaut on the new ones is kind of a bummer for me. I always thought that made these stand out a bit.

New indices look good though

i also liked the bent gmt hand. but i am sure this one will be a stunner like the rest of their watches.

It seems the markers have more lume area, as do the hands. Good move.

it does look that way. it also seems the markers are not as tall (height) and not camfered like the previous models due to the design change. i am not sure i like that. i really like how the camfered edges on the markers catch the light at certain angles. it kind of makes the lume look brighter on my Atlas at night.

Boy oh boy, these really do look great Terry ! :salute:

You know, some times you can just tell when a watch is something special,
or has that wow factor with it. :o ..And this would be one of those times I
think. Honestly, Monta seems to be one of those companies where no matter
what they do it seems to work, or whatever they touch seems to turn to gold.
Even though these are stainless.

I hadn’t seen these sir. ..Thanks a bunch for the news about them !!!

Is the minute hand longer, or is the dial smaller? Either way, it’s a huge improvement.

Both the hands and markers appear to be larger, with more lume surface area.

maybe since they removed the chamfering from the edges of the marker there is more room to add more lume?

Saw these at the wind up today. Far nicer in person than in pictures imo. They reworked the bezel action and it feels much better than the previous version. New larger hands and straight gmt hand all look good and glow like a mf.

Justin had his watch designer/maker there and apparently they also reworked the crown.

They’re super good guys.

That’s what I was waiting for too, don’t want another gmt. Hoping for a revisited diver from them and no date

I mentioned this on one of their IG posts. They never responded. A no-date using the new hands would be hard to resist.

They do have a new Oceanking in the works, but wouldn’t be any more specific.

Yeah. Agreed that’s what I want. They wouldn’t say more when I asked too. I don’t dislike the gmt but I just don’t want a gmt.
They did have that one no date diver with red hand I almost got but there always seems to be something missing on those I can’t quite put my finger on. The one I had was super well made but left me wanting. Bland I guess.

I don’t leave Florida. I can subtract 1 hour in my head if I travel to the Panhandle.

Lol Image that’s what I was thinking too. Even for my family in France, I’m no genius but I can add 6 Image I travel very little and i do I have my ExpII. Had too many darn GMT’s for a while. Down to one

i think on the newer one they went with a steel or aluminum insert to give it a vintage feel.
