So, are any of you looking to sell now that you’ve owned the Ultra for a month?

Thinking about getting one for working out, rucking and to track my sleep. Thoughts?
I actually took mine back during the return window and picked up a series 8. Ended up being a bit overkill for me and not nearly as comfortable as the series 8. The battery was nice but could always tell it was on the wrist. Not something I ever noticed with the other versions and outside of the action button the new features were lost on me. Much happier with the 8.

I think I’d like to see one in GPS only. I don’t need another line from Verizon, and it might be a bit cheaper.

And it’s titanium. It’s not that bad a price really.

The fact remains that if you never use the Dave computer function, this is a better Apple Watch for those who have the wrist to handle the size. It’s more future rich, titanium construction, and almost the same cost. I’m not ready to make the move to a watch that needs charging, but if I were this would be the watch.
It has a "Dave computer function"? I never approved that!!

The Ultra comes with Cellular...no option for without.

Yup, I know. Just whining cuz nobody asked me what I wanted in an Apple Watch.

I like the ultra but would need to try it on as it seems gigantic. I wear the 7 now and it fills my wrist. Just bought an 8 for the wife and SE for the kid.

The murse at my doctor’s office just got one. It looks perfectly normal on him and he’s not an overly large person. I was shocked because it looks enormous in photos.

Lefty’s loving it. I mean, how else can you get an animated chicken screen saver on your arm 🙄

Apple made a dive watch?

Post by JDC222 » Wed Dec 21, 2022 7:58 am

I tried this on (wrong wrist) yesterday, while getting a phone replaced at the Apple Store.

I like it! It’s big, cool case design, heavier than other Apple Watches…I might try one out.

Seen a couple of reports of the Apple Ultra bricking after dives. No indication of leaks...but stopped functioning and are unrecoverable.

Some thoughts that it might be a problem with Oceanic's software...but seems that's not been a consistent factor. FYI

My youngest, who has dabbled with a few watches in the past got one back in April earlier this year and has worn it every.single.day.
he is away at school and does things like pickle ball, soccer, gym workouts , quarters, etc and it keeps him on schedule.

on a side note, he has nicer phone than I do, nicer clothes than I do, but that is another conversation.

also, Mrs rockmastermike has an older version (I forget the series) and simply cannot function without it.

I'm highly curious about the Ultra and will be picking one up soon hopefully. I have a Fenix 6x I use for hikes/runs/bike rides/etc and nothing else, so I feel like the AWU will do that stuff almost as well, but be better if I want to wear it more often than that (the fenix is massive, great for looking at a map on it, but less than ideal in day to day wear)

I got rid of my Ultra and went back to a Garmin Instinct 2 Tactical Solar. It’s the best of all of the HR/ABC watches that I’ve owned.

I see that the Apple Ultra might not be available soon. Apple stole the blood-oxygen sensor tech from another company and lost the case in court when they were sued. Ultra's will no longer be legal to import into the US.
