Stay safe Florida BOD’s!

Post by Joeprez » Wed Sep 28, 2022 4:50 am

That Hurricane Ian is not joke. My dad and brother-in-law secured their houses yesterday. Brother-in-law is in Fort Myers, he’s gonna have it rough.

Tough stuff. My buddy in Naples was seeing wind gusts over 100mph this morning. Be safe!

It really is scary that’s for sure. My aunt, uncle along with cousins are in Sarasota
which is in it’s sights as well. I’m hoping against hope that Ian somehow weakens,
or better yet, turns out to see all of a sudden.

Yes, good luck to everyone, and thanks so much Joe ! ..I know you know all about
these kind of storms unfortunately.

I’m fine here on the east coast. My mom is being stubborn and won’t leave her house in Sarasota. Fingers crossed.

Its getting bad here in Venice just south of Sarasota. My wife, daughter and mother in law are at the house hunkered down. They just lost power. I'm at our south district office with my squad. We were pulled off the streets about an hour ago. Gonna be a long night

Ft. Myers Beach and Naples are already underwater and the eye hasn't even hit land yet

this is the big one!

thoughts and prayers with all in that area and beyond!

Stay safe, folks! I have a lot of respect and gratitude for police, EMTs, firefighters, ER staff, utility workers, etc. who stay and face the storm no matter how bad it gets.

Stay safe!

My mother-in-law has a winter home in Northport, it’s inland but took a direct hit. We are all praying that there isn’t too much damage, at least she is not down there yet.

All quiet on the east coast right now. I’ll stay out on patrol unless the wind gets out of hand. Then we’ll bunker down for as long as we need to. Hopefully there are no more tornadoes like last night.

Starting to see some images of this hurricane, looking very rough. Hoping everyone in it's path comes out ok.

All good here on the East coast at the moment.

Might be mobilized tomorrow as part of the cat response team.

West coast isn’t looking good at all…

1:00am here in Winter Haven. A large grand oak tree fell and just missed the back shed and chicken coop around 6pm yesterday. The house is fairly far from this tree, but still a close call. The fallen tree is actually creeping little by little towards the house from the strong winds….akin to a heavy tumbleweed.

At least one more hour of this….🙏🏼.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

Safe and sound. My parent's place where I evac'd to had minimal damage due the storm and lost power. They just got their power back about an hour ago. I had minimal damage to my house and had power when I got back home this morning. We are extremely lucky and grateful.

2nd thought. This is the 3rd "I" hurricane that has hit close to me. Ike, Irma and now Ian. I officially hate "I" storms in the gulf. :banghead:

I hope everyone else out there was able to stay safe.
