Norqain - any opinions?

Post by tmw » Sun Nov 20, 2022 11:28 am

Ok…who has seen, touched, held, put on wrist, owned, flipped norqain?

Thoughts and opinions?

I like the lume dial adventure.

I know Brice has had one or two of them, at least one I’m sure of.

Keeps making its way around the watch clubs in NC...but I have been less active so have not held them...perhaps someone else will chime in from the area

I was part of a pass around last year and wore it extensively for a couple of weeks. It’s a well built watch. The carbon fiber dial was a nice touch. Other than that it didn’t make me want to run out and buy one. IMHO it’s an also-ran and didn’t stand out in any special way.

Never tried one, but I think they did a great job with their chronos. $4,000 good? I don't know about that.

I also like their lume dial, but I can’t get past the silly plate on the 9 o’clock side.

For the life of me I can’t understand why brands do this. It completely cheapens the look of the watch. I remember invicta started doing this back in the day (I’m sure others did it and they copied it) but they’re the one that sticks out as they did it to so many watches. I recently reviewed a watch that had the name engraved on the side of the watch and it would have been an almost perfect watch if not for that.

You cant unsee that plate.

I remember that drove me crazy on a doxa tgraph from a while back. It had 1967-2007 or something stupid like that.

I have owned two of the Adventure Sport Series and I liked them. They are well done, well executed dials, nice case finish. Comparable to Breitling quality. I have also handled most other models when I went to two brand events and also at my local AD. Quality is solid throughout. They are assembled by a very reputable company non Switzerland that does work for other large and smaller brands (Farer). Ben’s dad was the CEO of that company so they have a relationship there.
Their prices are high in my opinion even with the manufacture movement. The classic Chrono is gorgeous.
