What's the Deal With Anonimo These Days?
What's the Deal With Anonimo These Days?
Was just thinking about some old brands that used to be cool but I don't hear much about these days. Specifically I was thinking of that sweet ass San Marco that Glen had many moons ago. I went to the "official" Anonimo website and the current designs are not interesting to me. Did the company change hands? They act like it's the same company on the "brand" page.
I did notice that Topper no longer sells them

They have been under bed ownership since 2009 I believe.

Yeah, Chinese firm bought them out. Shit watches now IMO.
Re: What's the Deal With Anonimo These Days?
I keep an eye out for some of the older models like the big Chrono.

Are they that bad ? What makes them so bad? Dial detail ? Bad finishing?djh1201 wrote:Yeah, Chinese firm bought them out. Shit watches now IMO.

They’re hideous. That’s enough for me.Jeep99dad wrote:Are they that bad ? What makes them so bad? Dial detail ? Bad finishing?djh1201 wrote:Yeah, Chinese firm bought them out. Shit watches now IMO.

So it’s more the design/aesthetic, not that the watches are shit.. as in poorly made. I was curious if there had been some significant quality issues.
I agree most of their models don’t look good well they aren’t to my taste either and it’s a shame where the brand is. They sell at such high discount. I miss my old bronze polucce.
I guess I like this one ok though. But I bet after sales support is not something you’d want to deal with either.

Re: What's the Deal With Anonimo These Days?
yeah, that's not bad, but I guess I'm old school when it comes to Anonimo. I've had at least 4 of the older models (not my photos), wish I'd kept them all. Lug screw issues and all...
Re: What's the Deal With Anonimo These Days?
I meant to buy one of those Millemetris on a trip to Florence back in 2009/10, but it didn't materialize. I wish it had.

What a great blast from the past Derek.
I used to love seeing everyone enjoying Anonimo years ago honestly. I mean to this
day the designs stand out, and somehow look classic, but also many years ahead of
their time. The one David still has, along with the ones he had that he is showing
are something special.
Honestly, I think if we hadn't seen how amazing the old Anonimo was, then the new
models would seem much cooler. Because they actually are very nice, as well as
different than so many watches. However, the old Anonimo spoiled us I guess.
It's terrific to talk about though Derek, thanks a ton for bringing this up !!!

I had one and loved. It developed crown issues when Anonimo was on the downslope and I got stuck with a fucked up watch that sold for parts.

I had so many of these and wish I never sold them. At the time I was nervous to keep them and possibly get jammed when they ever needed service parts etc.

Whisky has killed more men than bullets, but most men would rather be full of whisky than bullets.

Hey man. Been a while. Been outta the watch game for a few years. Literally haven’t bought one in maybe 2-3 yrs. Focused more on family, job and my drums lol.
