Not a deal breaker but I’m not sure about the second hand but I love everything else about it

The wave dial that should’ve been in the reissues. Dig the blue on this one, don’t dig the price.

Love it.

And no date.

This and the nttd are probably the two best bonds.

Other than the classic 2531.80.

i like it. i especially like it because it doesn't have any tacky "LOOK AT ME I'M A MOTHERFUCKING BOND WATCH!" kitsch on it.

The back does - but it’s on the back.

the back of the watch isn't screaming, tho. it's more of a whisper saying, "hey... check this out..."

Get rid of that bastard helium escape valve and it would be fantastic. Scratch that. I don't like that 60 on the bezel.

I do like this one. I think the blue is outstanding. Not sure I would pay the price they are asking.

It's a beautiful blue, and the bezel is lumed nicely. The wave dial looks really nice, back as it was. If it had sword instead of skeleton hands it would close to perfect. Not crazy about the back, but I never look at the back anyway.

Though I own the modern version and like it a lot, there are a lot of improvements here. Maybe they'll get it back to a modern take on the 2254 someday - this is a close as they have come so far.

I like it - not a fan of the red text on the regular SMP, which is partially why I really like the Green SMP.

I'm on this boat.

I love the color and no date, but dislike the HEV and bezel insert

Love the no date, the blue is very nice, wish it wasn’t an aluminum bezel. The turned lugs look great.

Just noticed the bezel. No lume pip kills it for me.

Yeah, I'd prefer a PIP too. Not sure it's a deal killer for me, but it is "interesting"

Seamaster James Bond 60th anniversary

Post by Jeep99dad » Thu Nov 24, 2022 6:26 am

Home run for me though I’d have preferred the NTTD titanium case design ideally. That second hand is a love/hate thing I’m sure without a straight or pointer arrow tip style but I like they went with something different vs. the standard SMP and a nod to a prior bond watch.
Using the 60 instead of a pip is a clever move to mark the 60th anniversary vs some 60 or other writing on the dial. With it being lumed in a different color than the other bezel numerals and match the minute hand lume it’s still very usable. And we all have plenty of watches, with a pip at 12 on the bezel. Can’t keep buying the same stuff. The new wave dial is reminiscent of the older SMP and more discrete, which I like a lot too. It IS a Bond watch after all and not the standard SMP.
The animated caseback is just cool and again different so I give them kuddos for doing something special there for the 60th of Bond and keeping the dial clean

Seamaster James Bond 60th anniversary

Wearing the newest version right now. I too prefer the pip at 12, but I’m a fan of the updated wider waves and the date being moved to 6 o’clock instead of 3.

I really disliked the new super heavy bracelet of the Seamaster, though the micro-adjust is great, so I swapped it with the Forstner bracelet and couldn’t be happier in that regard.

Interestingly, like Paul, I run my bezel in some sort of offset as well.

Didn’t realize the 60 was lumed. I could live with that I think.

Same here. This one for watching Golden Eye, and the PO when Casino Royale (Daniel Craig era).
