DIY watch club
Anyone seen this? It’s a club to buy the parts for a complete watch and assemble it yourself. It has DWC on the dials, which in this case stands for DIY Watch Club.

That’s actually pretty cool - I don’t have the patience to take that on, though…

I’ve done one and it’s a pretty neat setup. This one I believe: https://shop.diywatch.club/collections/ ... -lume-dial
The original build took maybe an hour, setting the seconds hand was the most challenging part, which is why it’s great they send extras. It comes with everything you need, and most seiko mod parts are compatible, which is great.
People argue you could do the whole shebang cheaper piecing it together yourself, which might be true, but unless you’re interested in doing the research and making sure every part and piece is compatible, the kits are a great idea.
Looks like they have kits using the new Seiko GMT, which is cool!
My watch has undergone several iterations. I’ll post some pics here in a few
The kit and stock watch: OEM SPB143 dial and MM hands: Current state: OEM Samurai dial (Lume is way better than the previous dials)

Re: DIY watch club
Im DEFINATELY going to do this. Very cool. I've built a couple and refaced/rehanded one. Seems like a good value and some fun. Putting on a face and hands, dropping it in a case, and buttoning things up is pretty simple - I suggest that they include some finger condoms and magnifier would be a nice plus.
It is better to know how to learn than to know.

Re: DIY watch club
I will admit that I find it tempting with the actual logo on these saying DWC.
I don't have enough time on my hands these days... though the thought of tinkering with watches one day and modding and messing with them DOES feel tempting.

I hadn’t seen this Roger, cool !
Honestly have always wanted to see this kind of thing done because
I think a lot of us are maybe scared to actually mod a watch. However,
this gives people the chance to have the experience. As well as have
all the parts in one place for their creation. It’s an awesome idea and
I hope we see it done more and more.
Really want to thank you for the report !!!

Re: DIY watch club
Fwiw, my kit came with both. However, I ended up using some full finger gloves (use them for working on cars too), and bought a desk top magnifier as well, as I couldn’t get used to the loupe. Good luck!

Another option I just saw: https://www.namokimods.com/collections/watchmaking-kits. They're currently all out of stock but I'm sure they'll be restocked at some point. Some pretty cool looking options.
