Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
Looks like these just dropped a few days ago.
I think Marc and his crew did a great job on these titanium SKX style divers. Powered by Seiko’s NH38, a true no date with no ghost position.
Coming in at $395 seems like a pretty good deal.
All of the details:
“Introducing our first titanium watch, the Sands Point. Named after the village on the North Shore of Long Island, the Sands Point diver weighs in at a mere 108 grams! Compare that to the 175 grams that a normal steel diver on bracelet weighs. The moment you pick it up, you will think your eyes are tricking you, as it feels much lighter than you anticipate. We have sandblasted the case of the watch to give it a dull gray appearance, but the watch is anything but dull. The bezel is also done in sandblasted titanium, as well as the outer portion of the deployant clasp.
This version has a black sand dial – a texture that matches the dull gray aesthetic of the watch itself. Using gun metal polished hands and markers, all filled with C3 Super-lumiNova, means the watch is easy to read both in daytime and nightime. For a pop of color, the tip of the seconds hand has been painted red. Protecting the dial is a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, with inner anti-reflective coating to keep the glare to a minimum.
Surrounding the dial is a 120 click uni-directional ratcheting bezel use to time your dives, or your laundry. The bezel insert is brushed ceramic, to match the dull appearance of the case, and the markings are filled with C3 Super-lumiNova that glows green at night. For a small extra detail, the triangle at 12:00 is coated with epoxy to give it a shine when light hits at the right angle.
Powering the Sands Point is the Seiko NH38 movement. This automatic movement features hand winding and hacking, and a 40 hour power reserve. You will notice there is no date window on the watch; the NH38 is a true no-date movement. Thus, there is no ghost position or ghost click when you set the time. Speaking of operating the crown, it is screwdown for a full 200 meters of water resistance.
Securing the Sands Point to your wrist is a fitted end FKM rubber strap, that tapers from 22mm at the lug to 18mm at the buckle. The deployant buckle is a 6 position micro-adjust so you can finetune the fit. Fits 6" to 9" wrist size.”
The Sands Point is based off the SKX007 platform, therefore straps, bezel inserts, hands and crystals made for the SKX007 will fit.

Good catch, I really like the top one
Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
I really like the first one. Mark came close to perfect. Give it a plain chapter ring and lose the “movt MH38” text at 6, then it’s stellar. May still buy.

This might be my first purchase of the year.
Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
The black one looks very good.
Nice toolish look.
Another good point is the integrated rubber strap.
All in all a good one for it's price.

Great work by Islander!
If they come out with a version using their USA-based quartz movement, I might have to pull the trigger instead of waiting for the next Scurfa drop...

I hear you. I have been wanting the Scurfa Ti, but seems like they sell out in the blink of an eye.
Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
Man oh man, as if the SKX style wasn’t cool enough, then you have
the Titanium factor, along with amazing dial choices?! This is
what has to be called too good Shannon, or even beyond cool sir.
Which are two very rarely reached levels.
Yowza, Islander can do no wrong honestly. ..THX a ton for the look !!!

I like the full lume one, but not the texture of that dial.
Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
I just noticed these fitted rubber straps don’t have the dowels in the holes by the clasp like the Bonetto 300 series straps do.
I kind of like that finishing touch on the BC strap.

Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
These really look fantastic . The SKX style case gives a familiar feel but these watches have own identity to be well past a Seiko mod, shall we say.
Well done! Awesome lume and great price

Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
Why can't Seiko make a case like that and keep the price similar?

There’s not much uglier than a white ceramic bezel insert. That model would be so much better with a black or stainless insert.

If we’re picking nits, I’m definitely not into the rubber strap with that clasp.
Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
Whoa, these Islanders Sands Point Titanium Divers look sick! They're definitely eye-catching with the sleek design and use of titanium. And, at $395, they seem like a pretty solid deal.I've been on the hunt for a new watch myself, and I've been impressed by some of the offerings I've found at https://www.hontreplicawatch.me. They have a great selection of different styles, including some pretty sweet dive watches, at an affordable price. If you're in the market for a new timepiece, I'd recommend checking out what they offer.

Re: Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver
Top one for me as well--- I'd prefer the " Mov't NH 38" at the bottom of the dial be left out.
