Damasko - In-House Movement?

Post by ezcheese » Tue Jan 31, 2023 11:24 am

I've been thinking about the Damasko I had that I wish I hadn't let go recently. It was a DA36 that I bought from John (Tragic) here on DWC.
I was looking at the Damasko site and see that they finally did release watches with their own in-house movement. Has anyone here had one of their watches with this movement? How was the time keeping and reliability?

Damasko is still quite reasonably priced, so I'm interested in filling the DA36 sized hole in my life

Sorry nothing to add regarding the in house movements but I'm surprised they discontinued the DA36 that was a kick ass little watch. Also it may just be me but I'm surprised how well priced some of their current line up seems to be with the features they have.

Hell yeah. IMO Damasko is a much better value proposition than Sinn

I don’t even look at Sinn anymore.
Damasko is great. I’ve been looking at their center minute hand Chrono wirh orange accents. DC80?

I’ve owned several Damaskos in the past and enjoyed them. Great tool watches.
Both companies have had their missteps, but what, other than personal dislike, makes you prefer Damasko?

I've had both as well - and prefer Sinn. The U50/U50P might be the perfect watches .... ;>)

Something about Damaskos being SO tool, that they feel a bit soul-less to me (?), if that makes sense. Also, quite a few of their watches have numbers on the dial and I'm starting to dislike that look as I get older...

I just prefer Damasko to Sinn. I’ve never owned a Sinn, but I’ve never had the strong desire to do so. It’s just personal taste for me.
