What One Watch Brings A Smile To Your Face When You Wear It…Say That Three X’s Fast[emoji4]

Ok…on the heels of what five (5) watches would you own…what ONE watch do you own that brings a smile on your face every time you put it on…included any watch…mechanical, quartz…even (gulp) Smart WatchImage

I will start…keep in mind…it comes from the heart too (any price)….it is a watch that comes from my son and a great forum friend member here. I forever will remember this. Price point asided…it was the heart and soul behind it, that means so muchImage

For me, it is my SLA017. It isn’t the most expensive watch nor will it get noticed in a crowd, but it has some exclusiveness due to its limited production run.

Its size is comfortable, the box sapphire crystal pops, and the dial details are very well done. It is just a well proportioned, well executed, dive watch.

Honorable mention goes to my Seiko SBDC165

At less than $1K (which includes the price of the MM300 clasp I added), this thing rocks. The textured dial is visually interesting without being distracting. The applied indices richen the watch’s appearance, and the DiaShield case hardening makes this pretty resistant to knocks and dings.

I wear this watch a ton without a second thought which is probably the best compliment a watch nerd can make make.

Without a doubt. I come from humble beginnings, as a kid I never thought I’d be able to own something from the Big R. Even better that I was able to snag it at an AD w/ no wait list BS.

Nice thread Hoppster -

2254.5 is mine. It’s my first Omega and it was an achievement watch that I bought with a work recognition bonus. I busted my ass for that bonus and albeit, it’s not a super spendy watch Im still really proud of it and it reminds me of the achievement. I’ve sworn not to sell it, and fortunately I’ve been turned down on a couple of trades. It’s everything I love in watches. High quality, thin, handsome, and it has it’s own recognizable personality. It would be my one watch collection if for some reason I could only have only one.

My intro into “nicer” watches was the Bond chronograph with applied indices (2225.80)

Have bought and sold a few, but found a nice unpolished one years ago, put an adjustable clasp on it, and it’s a keeper. It’s a watch that punches above its tangible value for me for sure.

I had the costco version of that with no SN. I regret letting it go.

Oh man that just flashed me back to when I worked in major sales at costco in 2005 in Everett (closest store to Boston) and this guy was training me and there was an Asian dude who was interested in a 4-5k watch, maybe a cartier or something, and the guy was saying all kinds of racist shit about how Asians never actually bought but they would just look a lot. Of course the guy bought the watch and I realized that Bostonians were just as if not more racist than southerners!

That's my local Costco! They usually have something cool in the display case. Right now, it's a Glycine Combat. Haven't seen anything high-end in a long time, though.

Honestly it was a great store! We shopped there when we first moved to the area (Malden) and then I got a job there while I was applying to Umass Boston. I got accepted but then we quickly moved back to NC because Emily decided to say fuck medical sales and go to dental school instead

That store did a lot of business!

They have Glycine Combats at my Costco here in Colorado- they’ve had the same ones since this summer.

I only have a few and this was one of my first autos. I like everything about this one every time I wear it. It was affordable so I easily look past a couple of things like accuracy and bezel insert. All in all, this could be my favorite.
