My experience w Seiko Service Center
My experience w Seiko Service Center
So I sent my MM Professional 300m SBBN015 to the SSC in New Jersey. It was due for a new battery and a checkup ..Sent them the watch 4/9/2022 and just got the watch today. So 14 MONTHS for a battery change ??!!! The service was so bewilderingly bad...I can't believe Seiko Corp allows such shitty service...
There was no communication from them re: when they received the watch back in April 2022 e.g "we received your watch on such date"
There was no communication about the status of the repair . " we are working on your watch" or the reason for the long delay
There was no communication about the watch being sent back , carrier (UPS etc) , date of arrival etc...
I thought my watch was stolen. Had to pester them with many emails before they got back to me about receiving the watch
I thought this watch had to go to the "dealer" to get worked on but I woulda had better service by the teenager at the mall watch Kiosk
Contrast this with SeiyaJapan where he gets your watch to the North Pole in 3days and gives u constant updates and thanks your for your business...
Has anyone else had this experience ???

Re: My experience w Seiko Service Center
This isn’t the first shitty experience that I’ve heard of.
My experience w Seiko Service Center
Mine was the opposite, but I’ve heard plenty of bad things about Mahwah as well. I shipped them a dead watch (6r15) right before peak Covid in March 2020 and they had it back to me May 2020 all good under warranty. I was informed via email when received and completed.

I've only had seikos serviced under warranty through a seiko AD. Both times they sent it to Japan. The experience was sort of standard I guess, 6 weeks or so.

Maybe someone's been wearing it for a year..

Re: My experience w Seiko Service Center
The last seven watches I have sent to them have all come back within 4 to 6 weeks. Sounds like your watch unfortunately fell into a black hole. I personally have had this happen to me before when we were doing watch repairs. It sucks for sure.

FOURTEEN MONTHS?
I would have flipped 30 watches in that time…

I thought about sending my Tuna in for a battery change, but just ended up doing it myself. Glad I did.. although no pressure test for mine. Thankfully the 5 year batteries in these last 8-10 years.

The NJ Service Center recently refurbished my SARG009 with an end to end time of two weeks back to my door.
