Sell off question

Post by ericf4 » Wed Jul 26, 2023 6:17 pm

Hey fellas. I’m really thinking of a big sell off as it’s just kinda dumb that I’m sitting on this huge pile of expensive watches for no real reason. Haven’t bought or sold in like 3 years and so dont really have the itch. I wear a few of them along with my Apple Watch and that seems to be enough for me. Who knows.

Question:

How are you all shipping watches nowadays? I’m way out of the loop as last I sold years ago I used CGI but have no clue if they are still around or if my acct is even still valid. I’m not even sure of what value you can ship anymore via the various transport companies.

Ideally I just list and sell them here as I really don’t want to deal with strangers. I don’t have the patience.

Thinking I may sell off and dump the money into a new car as my Alfa lease expires soon and may wanna buy an EV.

I may just post pics of the watches in one thread along with price for each and if anyone has interest can pm me and I’ll send any pics and details you need. Is that allowed? Can’t even recall. Thx dudes!

Sell off question

CGI is no more last I heard. Through Matt and Zack they referred IFS Infosure.

I had to talk to a lady on the phone after i registered. I think they just verify you’re a real person. I did the same with CGI. I’ve had zero issues with them. Same setup as CGI for the most part.

Depending on what you have you might want to just reach out to a few of the big Grey Market resellers and try to sell them most of it. They’ll quote you, send you a shipping label, and review the condition when they come in and let you know if they disagree with condition (rate if you are honest/conservative on your rating) and then write you the money.

I use Parcel Pro for shipping. Easy to set up an account. While USPS, UPS, & FedEx will allow you to buy insurance, they’ll deny the claim if they find out it’s a watch or jewelry.

Simple once you set up the account.

You can choose UPS or FedEx from their portal, printing the insured label directly.

You can also insure USPS or other shipments, just first email them the details, amount, and copy of label. Wait for their confirmation reply that it’s covered and ship away.

Jorge from CGI stated up a new company called WWT Global. I was using Parcel Pro since CGI shut down, but I've used WWT now a couple times and rates are significantly lower than Parcel Pro. I'll post a link if anyone wants to give them a try. Easy to sign up.

Don’t try to upload them using the paper clip icon. Use the photo icon on the left.

Thanks for posting about this, Jeff. Jorge was helpful when I had some issues with CGI years back.

I’ve been shipping with Parcel Pro since CGI was shut down as well. All has been well except I got a call some months ago from some dude asking why I hadn’t shipped anything in over 3 months. Dude came off rude and I let him know he should’ve opened with another question. Weird.

Anything we should know about the setup with Jorge’s company? Parcel Pro had an interview process when I joined up. CGI was set up under DWC. Wondering if the new company is any different.

You can attach photos without using any 3rd party app and use any device you’d like.

When you respond to a thread, select “full editor & preview”.

To attach a photo, look below your text box where you will see 2 tabs, “options” and “attachments”

Click “attachments”

Click “add files”

Select the photo from your photo library.

You will see the xxxxx.jpg file appear.

Click “place inline” so the photo appears in your response where you want it
IMG_7250.jpeg
To add more files, just repeat.

If you don’t see a “place inline” button, I think it means your image file is too large to display within the text response.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I always had good experience with Jorge also. He called me a few weeks ago and told me about his new company, but asked me not to mention it yet as they had a couple kinks to work out, but he's up and running now. He's only set up for Fed Ex right now, but is working on UPS. It's easy to sign up, just enter some basic info to set up an account. Any issues Jorge is very responsive, if you need his cell let me know. And the rates are great. As an example, I compared my first shipment against Parcel Pro - NJ - FL for a $5k watch was around $80 with PP vs $60 with WWT.

Use your username as business ID

Wario406

Then SSN if they require an EID

That’s what I did.

Out of curiosity what do you all think of Shipsurance that you get from Shippo or PirateShip?

Think of a price, cut it in half and round down then drop it a bit for DWC peeps. Then post it on WUS and enjoy the low balls which are about the same.
