21.5mm lugs is an interesting choice.

14.2mm thickness for a 42mm three-hander? Thing’s a hockey puck.

And the 21.5mm lug choice isn’t interesting, it’s just dumb. It’s like Blancpain is just trying to make life difficult for owners who enjoy buying multiple straps for a watch.

Like the 42.3 case but —$16k on a rubber strap…🫤

I love the size and would aim for one around $8-9k. Feldmar has them in stock at $16,600 on rubber. Hard no.

Really nice Nick ! :) :salute: Honestly, we can never have enough Fifty Fathoms. ;)
It might seem shocking seeing a different finish, or even a different size,
but after a few seconds, you are saying awesome ! :headbang:

Or I know I am. ..Thanks a bunch for sharing !!!

Love it, crazy expensive, not concerned about that thickness on a 42mm watch. DUMB LUG WIDTH.

Also love it, 14.2mm thickness is no biggie, 21.5mm lugs are dumb, but likely any 22mm strap would fit in there. Price is a non-starter, especially on bracelet (which likely does not have micro adjust?).

With 22mm curved spring bars, every single 22mm strap will fit.

about the price.....maybe they're hoping to ride the wave from the swatchxblancpain collab - strike while the iron is hot kinda thing

or maybe they're just delusional.

I’ve always thought this watch looked best on a strap, so the lack of a bracelet isn’t a big deal to me.

This price means owning one is just one winning lottery ticket away for me.

These take a big hit on resale right? Now all you guys have to do is wait out the super rich guys who buy these new and get tired of them.

They just need to release the old series 1-2-3 watches that were 40mm. I loved those and should have bought one.

BP FF retail has always been this stupid high. We just never remember that until they announce a new model.

Except it has no microadjustment, and the one for the 45mm is heaaaavvvy.

Good point. That's pretty shit. The x71 was amazing when Rolex still used hollow links and tin can clasps. If it hasn't improved since then, it's still super high quality but lacking on day-to-day functionality.

I almost bought one of these for $7k many years ago:
https://blancpainblog.com/news/revisiti ... niversary/

I wasn't hip to what it was at the time. I just thought it was a pretty BP FF in a smaller size. Turns out that it was a very special watch that was just brutally underpriced (at that time they were going for about double the $7K asking price). I have no idea how expensive they are now, but I'm sure they held value very well -- being, as far as I know, the only BP FF that combines the smaller size of the old 2000s version with the updated good looks of the more modern 45mm reference.

It's a bummer that these 70th anniversary models didn't revisit the 40.3mm case size.

Yeah I agree. Even after all these years I still think it’s the most beautiful diver I’ve seen. The dial is just awesome. Even if it’s a big watch on me, I don’t care. lol.
