Decision Made - Again
I just got the date for second knee replacement surgery - April 23rd.
I wanted it the first week of March, but orthopedist requires a minimum of 3 months between procedures.
Hopefully, this goes as well as the first one.

Oh wow, so you are all set to be bionic for the summer then Matt !
You are happy right sir? ..Knowing you will be pain free and just able
to enjoy life a little more must be THE best ! I mean I guess there will
be a little time for healing and everything, but at least you can see
some light at the end of the tunnel.
I cannot thank you enough for sharing this !!!
And I know it is a ways a way, but you know I, or all of us here on
my end, but all of DWC are wishing you the best of luck ahead of
time with this !!!

How are you feeling so far Matt?
It’s probably hard to tell right now I guess, but we are thinking about you
here on this end and I hope you can know that. As well as that all of us

Re: Decision Made - Again
Hope all goes well for you Matt. I have a MRI on my right shoulder & left knee early May. Probably followed by cleanout ops shortly after. Both knees will most likely be replaced over the next 2-3 years. Oh the joy...

Remaining anesthesia (if any) is probably helping me get through with just Tylenol.
Just like after the first surgery, I was given 30 oxycodone pills (5mg) to use as needed; I worked through 20 the last time.
I used the walker for about 10 minutes and realized I'm fine with just the cane.
Ice machine back in use.
In home PT starts tomorrow; hoping to get to outside PT ASAP.

Yes, I guess the anesthesia can definitely cover up some of the pain Matt.
That alone has to be annoying to deal with because it probably makes you
feel groggy and everything. And I think the Tylenol, ice, as well as your pills
should make the coming weeks more manageable. But I have to say, that
your amazing attitude is what is THE best and I feel like you will be
back to normal in no time as a result.
Yup, no cane necessary, you are going to be Bionic, or Super Matt after this !
Keep on feeling better my friend and please keep keeping us up to date on
how everything is doing. Thanks again, and I hope you can enjoy the rest of
the week.

Re: Decision Made - Again
I had a very good day today.
I went to the doctor's office in the morning to get the staples removed.
Then I had an honest conversation with him about how I'm doing and he gave me permission to drive;
earlier than expected and welcome news.
My wife hated having to drive my ass around - I'm not a very good passenger.

Re: Decision Made - Again
grats, man.
i know how horrible it is not to be able to drive. broke my tibial plateau back in 1999. no weight bearing for 3 months. we had one car between the two of us and it had a manual transmission. and it was my left leg, the clutch leg. i wasn't allowed to drive for 3 months and i was miserable needing to be chauffeured everywhere.
