Kith Heuer Formula 1

Post by DocHollidayDDS » Sun May 05, 2024 8:46 pm

TAG Heuer brings back a classic…

https://www.ablogtowatch.com/hands-on-d ... h-watches/

Image

Max Verstappen had the blue one on his wrist after his runner-up finish in today’s Miami Grand Prix.

At $1500 for a 35mm, plastic, quartz watch, this isn’t for me, but I’ve got no doubt that they’ll all be snatched up quickly with a bunch of them immediately listed on eBay for double the retail price.

Oh, and for all the completists out there, you can try to score one of 75 box sets with all ten versions for a cool $18k.

Already know a guy scoring one. Not for me, but let the money fly!

Never heard of Kith, although Google tells me they have a store in Oxford Street, London.
I can't see these being popular at over £1K. Any watch with Mercedes hands is a no for me.

Can't tell if this release is a sign the watch economy is stronger than ever or a sign of the apocalypse

I freaking love these - and always have. I have an original lume dial version and wore the hell out of it.

If I can get in I will.

I’m strangely drawn to a stainless steel one. Probably due to nostalgia. Nostalgia is a son of a bitch.

Looked at the photo and thought these would be an affordable fun option. Well, no.

Was obsessed with these when I was a kid. Would love to own one but not this version. Don’t dislike it just think it’s a bit overpriced for my tastes in a fun watch.

James, these are so neat, it’s just too bad they aren’t $150 each instead
of the $1500 they are asking. ;) ..Or at least closer to the Swatch Omega
and Blancpain Swatches. ;) That would have been really cool !

Nevertheless, it’s fun to at least see them, so thanks a bunch for the news !!!

They ruined it with the gay branding.
So many watch companies doing the “street wear” crossovers. No thanks. I’ll take a real, commercial free vintage.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that has a tri-star aversion.

And I have to agree with what Tom pointed out, I'm somewhat surprised that TAG Heuer didn't price these more in line with the plastic fantastic Omega/Blancpain offerings from Swatch. But as I said, I'm sure that won't keep these from selling out, especially given the limited number available.

I struggle with the LE tag on a plastic watch. I think it’s a sure sign of price management.

They’re kinda cool in a trendy, tacky, geeky sorta way. I’d rock one just the same as some of the Gshock colored watches.

That's a really good point. I'd buy the Blancpain plastico 100% over this Tag.

Not a big fan of Mercedes hands either.

It would be cooler if they made them in a 41-42mm size and charged about 450 for them.

I had an F1 early in my collecting and really liked it. It wasn't a Kith, I don't even know what that is, and it also wasn't $1500. That's crazy.

It's a 'Clothing and Lifestyle' brand. FWIW, I'd never heard of them before this collaboration with TAG Heuer either.
