oh I forgot years ago my buddy who was in the military used craigslist the for 3 months to find couches to surf on while traveling to europe. he said he would never do that shit again because he stayed with real weirdo's. after hanging out with me for years they must have been some REAL freaks.

I had some family friends do this identical trip starting in SoCal though. From the southern most point they shipped the bikes home via cargo container. I heard it was expensive and the bikes got somewhat thrashed around in transit. Food for thought.

Well Dave and I had a great lunch GTG this afternoon in sunny beautiful Tampa.

I was able to treat him to a uniquely Tampa dining experience at......Chilis.

The two hours flew by, and we talked about a wide variety of things. As someone who is not super adventurous, I have to admit I really envy the journey he is taking. Montreal through NYC, down the east coast through Atlanta...reaching the crown jewel of the USA, the sub tropics of Florida and our emerald seas, beautiful women and surging 6-6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Dave is a Photog, chef and music fan. Motorcycle guy and recovering watch addict. His trip is really just beginning, and he is heading south to Miami, over through Louisiana and Texas for the harrowing plunge through Mexico and down through South America "till the road ends". Then back up and into the U.S. west coast, into Alaska, before working back home.

Or till funds run out. Or till the wind takes him in a different direction. Who knows. That's what has me a little envious. While I wouldn't change a thing in my life, Dave is making up each day as he goes along. Many of us haven't had that opportunity since we were knucklehead teenagers.

So it was nice to meet another DWC brother today, and make a new friend. Keep sending Dave some positive Karma for safe travels and smooth roads. And if you get a chance to take him to lunch in your city, you'll be glad you did.

We even managed a watch pic, and a selfie, so lunch was a total success.
