it's going to take some getting used to. we had two 2007 vehicles, so this was our first new car in 16 years. my wife's volvo was loaded, but "2007" loaded. so much more technology in cars today.
Congrats!
I’ve found upgrading speakers makes a huge difference even with a stock head unit.

I agree. I did a Kicker upgrade package on my 4Runner with its non-premium audio system. Trail Grid Pro sells a kit with correct mounting brackets and wiring. Made a huge difference in sound quality.

there's a small chance we could move to a row house in baltimore over the next couple of years. and if we did, i'd trade in my truck for a mini. parking's a premium, fun to drive and fit into small spaces.

Wife decided to try an EV for her commute. Been a good little car so far. Was $20k off MSRP with only 2,000 miles on the odo. Used EV's are the best deal going right now. Has literally 4x the horsepower of my wife's old hybrid.

That’s nice looking. I’m in the market for a small commuter car now that I don’t have a police car anymore. Electric would be ideal for my needs but all the new ones are more than I want to spend.

They are great for a commute. I got a good deal on the Polestar 2 version (same motors / battery as the Volvo). The performance software upgrade makes it a sub-4 second beast. And you get an HOV sticker.

You definitely should look at the lightly used market. A lot of dealers are currently overstocked with new EV's, so used ones have dropped in value a lot more than ICE... also partially due to used EV's not being eligible for tax credits. If you find one lightly used and still under warranty, there is a lot less that can go wrong with EV's than ICE cars. As long as most of your charging can be done at home, they make a great commuter. I think it will be a long time before we both have EV's but great to have one in a 2 car household.

Yeah - I have heard that if you know the right people you can have the Volvo software modified to have the same power as the Polestar... but it feels like 0-60 in 4.5 on the Volvo is plenty for my wife... especially with a son with his learner's permit driving it.

I like these a lot and I tend to dislike crossovers. It's just very Volvo in all the right ways. I'm glad they didn't try to make their EVs look too EV like Mercedes did.

That's hilarious! This is my first time seeing Bosozoku-style Detroit iron.
Is that a '70 Marquis?

I went from a 911 and then an RS3 to this plodding beast. Perfect car for this area, where it floods every other week.

We will be south of B'more in a few months to see friends. The Mini is fun. Even though this is a base model version.

I just love those. Came close to buying an S convertible, but I’m just too large to make it work daily. It was like a go-cart. Congrats on yours T!

Well, I posted a defender a few months ago and my vehicle situation is constantly changing. Still own the defender that’s for sale, but bought a new S580 Mercedes. Two months later my wife got in a wreck (not her fault) and they totaled the car. The ordeal cost me 35k. Such bullshit.
Silver lining is that I wanted the E63s last year but they didn’t make it. They do for this year and it’s the last year for this bi-turbo V8 so I was happy to scoop up the one I wanted recently. Still in the honeymoon phase. Love it.
Lovely car! All German cars should be some shade of silver, as God intended.
Hopefully the Mrs. is ok.
Thanks Hop. Ya she’s a-ok now.
Unfortunately that’s where you could have made up your $35K.

a week in, i'm with your daughter. can't really open it up yet, need to get through the breakin period, but this thing has some giddyup in HEV mode. supposedly the only toyota that's faster off the line is the supra.
