That exhaust wouldn’t make it home from the dealership. Awful.
Awful indeed.

I should've realized something was off in the Forbes pics, and they hadn't remade something as cool as the original. Quarantine effing with my head.

Weather has been nice enough to take the bike out. This is my 2015 Monster 821. Love this thing. Anxious to find out what you end up getting.

That’s a fantastic deal, Andrea. I’ve always preferred naked bikes. They’re finally catching on in the US.

Thanks Chris!
I can’t wait to take it for a spin.

Naked bikes have been doing well in terms of sales for some time now, the hornet was the first one to bring them into the mainstream.
Prior to that, it was racing bikes that took the biggest share of sales*

Today, I think the top selling bike is the BMW GS1200

*I’m not counting scooters, outside of SE Asia Italy is the #1 country in scooters per capita in the world.
They couldn’t give them away in the US for years. I’m glad they didn’t give up.
Here’s my last naked.

Not this exact one but the same one.

This is a Honda Hornet 900, in the USA I think it was called differently, something like CB919F or something.

When I was younger I loved two bikes:

BMW’s R1200R was the one I liked most when I had the money to buy a bike (2007), and that what I got at the time.
Spent some fantastic years with it.

But my first crush was, back from 1998 as I turned 18, the Honda Hornet 600.
It was a real pioneer of a bike, the first one to couple a racing bike engine (the one from the CBR600) with a naked look.
It sold like hot cakes (it was the best selling bike in Italy for multiple years in a row).

This one is its bigger sister, produced from 2002 to 2007, and significantly less successful because it was pretty expensive compared to the 600.
Reason being a fantastic engine, from 1998’s CBR900, with fuel injection (the 600 has carburators)

I found a perfect condition 2006 model with 12000 miles, from a Honda dealer, with full service check prior to delivery and 1 year warranty.
For $3200 I couldn’t resist
Good friend rode a 954 for years. Super smooth motor, lots of fun and easy to get into trouble Image

Enjoy it!

Haven't ensured my Tuono yet, but all the naked bike pics make me want to do it sooner vs. later :)

Been exploring locally a bit more, given the current situation. Still able to get to some nice spots, close to 'town'

Bit dark yesterday going East and late in the day, didn't venture too far into the 'deep woods' ;)

This is the actual bike I’m getting.
I love the old school looks coupled with that sporty heart
They took one of the best 900 engines made (at the time it was best in class), and they tweaked it from the original “racing” settings to a much more usable beast: it’s 110 hp with tons of torque.

That bike is in Canada now. The guy drove down to Long Island and paid my full asking price.

Honda CB-F concept. This could be nice if they don’t get greedy or otherwise screw it up.

If u like a bit of modding/tuning...the xsr is the way to go.
I had the Mt09 tracer.. slightly bigger brother of the mt07(xsr)
It's a ton of fun
