It's a shame Seiko didn't sponsor him or the movie.

I see Reinhold Messner is one of the interview subjects - famous Explorer II wearer (and famous climber).

I enjoyed in the trailer where the dude from Free Solo was basically saying "that guy who climbs on the ice? He's the real crazy one."

It's another good documentary. I wish someone out there did the same for extreme wreck diving or something.

Finally watched this and I don’t know what took so long. This guy was doing the stuff that no one would even consider attempting, and doing it in preferred relative anonymity. Burned a little too bright and ended up like most in that world do, for better or worse. Sad irony is that his style isn’t what ended it…could have happened to anyone that spends any time in the mountains.

My sister lost a very good friend on the Andes due to an avalanche, and while I absolutely LOVE hiking in the mountains I’ll never do anything more adventurous than summer hikes on snow-free paths.
For some reason, I don’t have any issues diving with sharks, but I have a different respect/fear of the mountains.

We moved to Colorado about 8 years ago… I always thought - John Denver, Rocky Mountain High, Tree Huggers, Peace and Love, Gentle environment…

NO. This place will kill you without prejudice. Winter or summer. Hail the size of softballs in the summer. Lightening that’ll blow 50 people off a mountain top, avalanches that will just quietly bury you. Life above 8k feet is no joke.
