Jeep/McIntosh
I've never owned a Jeep product, but those McIntosh vu meters are sexy as hell...

Chris...I got a taste of the other half my freshman year. One of my fraternity brothers had a full blown McIntosh system, including speakers. From memory, I think it was around 7K, and I may be wrong, in 1974 dollars.goaliechris wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 1:11 pmWoah. Love Mac gear and that looks amazing.

Wtf??? That’s next level stuff to take into a fraternity house! And that’s was a ton of money back then. Good for him. I still lust after that green glow. I have a different green glow for my listening system, Naim, which is awesome but one day a Mac stereo will live in my home (when I am retired most likely).

Chris... It was in his apartment. That "rich" kid is now 67 and still practicing dentistry in the Memphis area. He is also one of the nicest people I've ever met. We would go over and smoke a joint and start spinning records. I remember it sounded incredible and I had to go home to my Sansui/Advent rig that I had to work for. $7,000, if I'm right, was a lot of money back then, a hell of a lot. I was about as much of a tech head as one could be in those days and his system just spurred my interest in audio.
I would love to hear your Naim/Dyn system and you're right, owning McIntosh electronics would be a dream.

That’s awesome - very cool that you guys are still friends.
This is a pretty simple system. I have learned that you just don’t need a ton of amps. I used to have a Bryston 4B SST with massive watts, and it was awesome, but this all-in-one Naim unit, the Superuniti, is just incredible with a fraction of the power and far less than these Contours can handle.

Love it, Chris. Finally got to see the Dyns up close. For what it's worth, I've been preaching speakers first for decades. Always thought I might own Dynaudio at some point, but life got in the way.

Very cool! I am about to upgrade to Mac blue lights on my 4100. Damn, how I love this thing. Sounds AMAZING.

Nice...Am I right, late seventies, early eighties? Without a doubt, one of, if not the best of its day. It was so far out of my league at the time, that I don't really remember lusting for it , I mean completely out of reach.Bradystraps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 1:12 pmVery cool!
