My girl has some stuff, I believe Specialized brand BMX - late 80’s to early 90’s.
We can connect offline. I’ll snag some photos when the snow subsides.

Man I used to love racing BMX and MX. Growing up in Southern California in the 60’s/70’s I got to see and do a lot of cool sports in their infancy. BMX, MX, skateboard parks, boogie boards… I wish I still had my OG 74 Redline bike with Motomags. Currently ride a 20 year old 24” GT Cruiser. Pretty cool for a 59 year old kid

Re: Old School BMX
I dig this. I was all set to by a BMX for my son and another one for me (24"or 26") but at the last minute he chose a MTB. I already have one of those so wifey said no BMX for dad
Not a BMX, but saw this one the other day and I'm digging it:

I'm more a mid-school 1990's kinda guy, but if you're into that stuff I have some cool items from BITD.

My grail is an RRS 24", which is a rare bird these days. Redline, GT, Kuwahara, SE, DG, CW. Also 16" pitbikes...

Redline, Kuwahara, GT, Hutch, Haro .. would have loved on of those when I was a kid. But the angle of the Schwinn frame felt best when I needed a new bike for the paper route so that’s what I went with. Practical to a fault.JDC222 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 8:31 amRight on...or should I say "Rad!"spring-diver wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 10:40 pmMan I used to love racing BMX and MX. Man, I really wanted a Haro. Loved the Handlebar on those.
Also had a friend with a chrome frame BMX with anodized blue parts... just like the one in the pictured above. I would love to build one like that.

Re: Old School BMX
Haro has rereleased all their old designs:

I built a really nice BMX bike to ride with my daughter. It's been a good investment.

Staying away from this thread.
I do not need another hobby...
Or another way to hurt myself
Growing up, my neighbor did welding out of his garage.
He fixed my broken BMX frame several times.
That Haro handle bar set looks pretty sturdy.
Had a buddy land hard and flat on a jump. His handlebars broke and he bit the gooseneck with his chin. Tore a nice flap between lips and chin that you could see his teeth through...

Old School BMX
That’s why I want one. A lot of stop and go so easier to do that in a bike smaller than my mountain bike.JP Chestnut wrote:Haro has rereleased all their old designs:

Re: Old School BMX
It's not surprising that they're sold out. They're released in small lots once a year and a lot of people preorder. I took a quick look around and didn't see any in stock. If you're serious about getting one I'd reach out to Patrick at Flatland Fuel:Joeprez wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 11:02 amThat’s why I want one. Re: Old School BMX
I too grew up Cali in the late 70. BMX was just starting to take off. I remember lusting after a Redline. I had a Mongoose frame with various parts. My first bad crash was in Concord about 76. Going down the side of a large hill and hit a bump while out of the saddle and apparently leaning too far forward. Did a great endo and broke my humerus. Had to walk home with my buddies. I then had to wait for my Mom to get home from work in SF. She couldn't get off early and had to ride the BART home. Went to Travis AFB to the ER. My dad was in Korea at the time. I still remember the doctor taking his shoe off and putting it into my arm pit to reset the bone. I was in a helicopter brace for about a month. I still give my Mom grief for letting me lay on the couch in pain for a few hours.

I'd be happy to look after that for you Terry! Brent and Andy Patterson were a couple of years older than me, back in the race days. Let me know if you want it to go to a good home

Re: Old School BMX
Ha it’s funny to come across this thread.
About a month ago my mom came across a NOS monocoque frame in her garage.
I’m sure it’s early 90s as a great friend has a minor sponsorship when we were young and used to throw me old parts.
I was never very good but tried my best to keep up.
I reached out to him to see if he wanted it back.
