Rover Metro - days with Dad

Post by stonehead887 » Sun Mar 13, 2022 4:45 am

Hey guys

Had another great weekend with dad. Finally managed to go for a spin in his Rover Metro. This one is very rare, only 31 left on the road.
He picked it up for a bargain £1300, its only done 29k miles.
Fantastic little car, it's got the K Series engine. A whole 1100cc but it's a lovely little runner.
Interior is immaculate, only 3 owners from new.
As much as it's been fun driving the car, the best bit is spending quality time with my old man. If C19 taught us any, it's to enjoy every moment. You will miss it when it's gone.

Last pic is comparison with my Mini. The Metro was supposed to be the direct replacement of the Mini. Over 2 million Metroes were sold

Enjoy.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

That’s a neat little car. Time with Dad is definitely well spent.

I had a panic attack when I saw the driving picture thinking there was going to be a head on crash, and felt dumb when I realized where the picture was taken

seriously though, absolutely right to enjoy and appreciate time with dad

Very cool! I’m not familiar with the metro as I don’t think it ever came stateside(?). Did modifying/tuning them ever take off like the mini?

No, in true BMC style, they died a slow painful death due to poor build quality and building cars from the spares box!
